For anyone craving a new punk band to fall in love with may I introduce you to Pass Away.
Hailing from Brooklyn and made up of members of I Am the Avalanche and Crime in Stereo, Pass Away’s brand of melodic-heart on your sleeve punk can be likened to The Lawrence Arms and Iron Chic. They are the type of band best enjoyed in an overly packed small club while shouting along, drinking beer, and smoking outside in between sets.
Although Pass Away started as a side project, the band has grown into its own skin with its own mission statement and their upcoming album, Thirty Nine, is their most focused yet. With their lead single “Halloween“, guitarist and vocalist Mike Ireland sings about who is being true to themselves and who is just playing dress up. “Halloween” is currently streaming at BrooklynVegan and will be available on all digital providers on Friday, October 15th. Thirty Nine will be released on Friday, November 26th and vinyl preorders are available now from Suburbia Records.
Mike Ireland – Lead Vocals, Guitar
Eric Fairchild – Drums, Keys
Johnny Nicholls – Bass, Vocals
Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, Pass Away has been playing their own brand of punk music since 2013. What began as a side project from members of I Am The Avalanche and Crime in Stereo, Pass Away has grown into a focused songwriting team of like-minded driven friends. With soul-baring autobiographical lyrics and painfully honest accounts of life changing experiences, Pass Away continues to forge ahead with their truth.
