The Hideaways’ sound is a combination of raging guitars and driving rhythms alongside dark electronic and subtle trip-hop influences.
Their newest single ‘Dissolve’ is out on the 12th of November 2021 via These Bloody Thieves and is taken from the band’s debut EP, Peer/Stare, scheduled for release in early 2022.
‘Dissolve’ was written in the spring of 2020 shortly after the band’s first run of US shows at New Colossus festival in New York was cut short by the pandemic.
“It was obviously pretty gutting” says frontman Danny Pugh of the experience. “Playing in the US was a massive deal for us, but getting locked down at least gave us a chance to just get our head into writing loads of new material for this EP”. “‘Dissolve’ basically started out as a no-frills indie tune, but once we got into the studio the three of us and Stew (Jackson, producer) were all really into the spacey, eerie vibe that we got from rearranging it with more synths and electronics. It’s still a guitar tune ultimately, but we just fell in love with the whole character of it once we’d gone in that direction, which turned out to have a massive impact on how the whole EP turned out”.
