Today’s society tries to persuade us that everything is black or white, that there is no possible compromise, that we have to choose sides. But don’t we harm sometimes by thinking we are doing the right thing?
The excessive media coverage in our extremely connected world condemns the least of our missteps, demonises or sanctifies each of our movements and forces us to show an excessively virtuous image.
But we all have a dark side, the boundary between humanity and bestiality is tenuous. Despite the pressure from society to suppress this dark side and be whiter than white, we are irresistibly attracted to it.
Isn’t it the very essence of life but to find this fragile balance between good and evil? What about light without darkness, life without death…? Accepting our dark side means accepting ourselves totally and finding an inner peace that will allow us to “hold” and better contain this dark side.
