Heavyweights Remastered – Mar de Grises
Originally formed in Santiago (Chile) in the year 2000 by guitarist Rodrigo Morris, bassist Rodrigo Gálvez and vocalist Marcelo Rodríguez, later joined by guitarist Sergio Álvarez and drummer Alejandro Arce, Mar de Grises can be considered one of the most respected doom/death metal acts ever emerged from South America.
Admired by newcomers and beloved by experts, the quintet released their first full length “The Tatterdemalion Express” in 2004 via Firebox Records, the label to be at the time. After their first European tour and having Juan Escobar as new frontman, the band started the recording for “Draining the Waterheart“, finally released in 2008 by Firebox.
Never playing by the genre´s rules, these two seminal albums made them sign a deal with the most respected French label Season of Mist for their 2010 third album “Stream Inwards“. Three years later Mar de Grises put an end to their career never to come back.
MAR DE GRISES
his 2020 The Vinyl Division proudly releases both, “The Tatterdemalion Express” and “Draining The Waterheart”, on double gatefold vinyl (black or colored) with remastered vinyl audio by Jaime Gómez Arellano, know for his work with bands such as Paradise Lost, Ulver, Cathedral, Ghost…

"Hi there. We hope that, wherever you are reading this, you've managed to stay positive through the crazy times we are living. Some time ago David from the Spanish label The Vinyl Division contacted us to reissue our albums “The Tatterdemalion Express” and “Draining The Waterheart” on vinyl format. Focusing on that project has definitely made this complicated period more bearable for us. And now we are able to share the results with you: Our first vinyl edition, for which the audio has been remastered, and we have added texts (anecdotes, remembrances), as well as other surprises. Listening ... again, with higher quality, and looking back on our history, has been invigorating and joyful. That energy has surely made its way onto the reworkings of designs and audios. Beautifully Uplifting – The Trusted
The Trusted are Southend-on-Sea natives Dave Batchelor, Dale Holt-Mead, Fin Cunningham and Tom Cunningham. Initially starting out in secondary school, the band bonded over their mutual appreciation of a strong melody and atmospheric, edgy pop.
Sharing an enthusiasm for 21st century Brit-rock led by the likes of Catfish and the Bottlemen and The 1975, as well as classic late ‘70s new-wave icons such as The Clash and Elvis Costello, The Trusted thrive off their unique fusion of post-punk energy and storytelling.
Following up their EP Love And Suicide, The Trusted announce their new single “Criminals.” Describing the track as “the most emotional song we’ve ever written”, the song is a combination of bittersweet emotions and feelings. In the process of creating the track the band found themselves stripping the song back to its bones, allowing space to experiment with new electronic textures and sounds.
The Trusted 'CRIMINALS'
Mixed by Grammy nominated Andy Bradfield (Elbow, David Gray, Rufus Wainwright), the building euphoric synth-strings are reminiscent of the powerful “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap. The smooth, elongated, indie vocals compliment the nostalgic [The] Killers-esque guitar and drums. The song draws out juxtaposed feelings of emotional elevation and deep longing. The Trusted share that the song is about “loss, heartbreak, guilt and self-absorption” continuing, “It’s a sad and honest track, but at the same, it’s kind of beautifully uplifting.”
The band have garnered hundreds of thousands of plays on Spotify alone, along with support from major radio stations including BBC 6 Music, BBC London, BBC introducing, BTTV and Amazing Radio. The band have successfully brought their recognisable new wave-esque, alt-rock to the stage. With an increasing number of prestigious live shows under their belts, fans have not been left disappointed by their hypnotic and mind-blowing live sets. Prestigious gigs in London and across the UK have been followed with two successful tours of Northern Italy where the band now have a huge following. “Criminals” is currently available worldwide, off of Kerry On The Cake records.
Brazilian Ooze – Bellsavvy
Bellsavvy is a rising pop star meets fierce Latin diva. Based in London the artist knows how to combine her latin roots and European influences to create a unique sound unlike any other.
Starting her career with MTV Brazil singing on the show “Studio Acesso Girls MTV”, Bellsavvy won over the hearts of over 1.8 million live viewers who all voted for her performance. Following her time on MTV, she was catapulted into the limelight, landing roles in movies, musicals and numerous musical projects around Europe.
Her debut single “Queen of My Mind” released earlier this year, received notable airplay from the likes of BBC Introducing and RTL. With her solid artistic identity being all about self-empowerment, she was labelled “the new fierce diva of 2021” by media around the globe, garnering support from the likes of Hollywood Life, GAYTIMES, PopDust and many more. “Queen of My Mind” saw Bellsavvy speaking about her experiences in the modelling industry and how she was shamed for her body weight. These dark and negative thoughts resulted in a loss of self-confidence and self-love leading to a mental breakdown. The track shined a light on the artist overcoming these inner-battles, resulting in a self-empowering anthem.
“In My Zone”
Now, she is giving us the second chapter. With her latest single “In My Zone”, Bellsavvy is shining brighter than ever before inviting listeners to find their own light and join her “in her zone”, where united we can all feel the power of owning who we are. “In My Zone” is an upbeat, energizing and self-assured song about being comfortable in your own skin and knowing your self-worth. Bellsavvy explains, “In my zone is about the moment I knew I was the Queen of my mind and I wanted to celebrate the feeling of breaking away from that chapter in my life.”
“In My Zone” oozes Latin fire and energy. With sassy, fun vocals the song is infused with uplifting, catchy spanish influence and fire, dance-worthy production by the multi-platinum producer Sky Adams (Doja Cat, HRVY, Kylie Minogue, Sigala). The track is lively, light-hearted and carries a cheeky essence, but the vibes of the track speak of body confidence and finding your inner badass; her honesty shows people every little sentiment of who she is.
Bellsavvy hopes to use her inspiring story to help people in need. Something which is more important now, than ever before, the artist is using her positive, high energy and uplifting vibes, in her honest and authentic lyrics to tell her story and connect with listeners on a deeper level. Her music has been hugely supported by LGBTQ+ communities around the world – a community who can empathize with the discriminations that she has endured. With the goal to encourage others to feel strong, beautiful, and uplifted, no matter what anyone else tells you, Bellsavvy is on a mission and no one can get in her way.
Wham Bam Christmas – Ryan Hamilton w/ EMILY CAPELL
An original song penned by the Texan star, this pared-back piano ballad finds Hamilton in a tender duet with rising London singer/songwriter: Emily Capell.
“Christmas Wish” is a fictional story of a separated couple yearning to repair their relationship over the holiday season. As fragile as a snowflake, but with a warming message of peace, goodwill and love at its core, it’s a song that will inevitably melt the hearts of the many who are contemplating a Christmas apart from loved ones this year.
“Writing an original Christmas song is not easy. I guess it's why most artists just cover older ones! Haha. But, like some sort of unexpected Christmas magic, this idea appeared. A guy, alone at Christmas, with a gift under the tree for his lost love. That part comes from a very personal place. But, I took it upon myself to rewrite the story, and give it a beautiful, heartwarming ending. I mean, it's Christmas after-all!”
Ryan Hamilton
Soothing guest vocals on the new single come from U.K. artist, Emily Capell, herself recently celebrating the one year anniversary of her debut album ‘Combat Frock’. Longtime fans of each other’s music, Ryan & Emily previously collaborated on a cover of Wham!’s ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go Go’, recorded in lockdown between Texas & the U.K. While we might have to wait a little longer for a version of “Last Christmas”, a festive tune between the two was surely written in the stars from then on. As Hamilton says of the collaboration:
“Emily and I have been talking about doing something together for a while. We struck up a friendship earlier this year. I fell in love with her voice the first time I heard it. She’s the perfect addition to this song, and story.”
And on tackling the obstacles of recording “Christmas Wish” thousands of miles apart, Capell adds:
“Recording from home has not been without its challenges but you just have to get on with it! Ryan has been great and super supportive and patient with me and my terrible knowledge of technology! I can’t wait for everyone to hear the track. Also let’s hope we continue making great songs together!”
Suitably mirroring Christmas as both a time for reflection, but also one for fun, the single sees the delicate “Christmas Wish” backed by a rollicking version of the Loretta Lynn cracker: “To Heck With Ole Santa Claus” on the B-side. “This is one of my all time favorite Country Christmas songs. So much fun.” says Hamilton.
Set for release on 27th November via Stevie Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool label, “Christmas Wish” swiftly follows the release of Hamilton’s acclaimed album: ‘Nowhere to Go but Everywhere’, which broke the Top 10 in both the Record Store and the Indie Album Breakers charts earlier in 2020. “Christmas Wish” will be available on all digital platforms and as a physical CD single. Purchase / Pre Save the record here: https://orcd.co/christmaswish
While a vaccine is surely top of everyone’s wish list this Christmas, Ryan Hamilton & Emily Capell hope this little gift from them to the world can at least pass a little of the time while we wait for it. As Hamiton says:
“This year has been so awful, on so many levels. I can’t wait to see the other side of it. A big reason I wanted to do a Christmas song this year, is because I hoped it would bring some joy during a difficult time.”
Where There’s Love, There’s Life – Valencia James
New York born, Sydney bred dark-pop artist Valencia James is making music for those in need. With a catalogue of music inspired by real life events, Valencia is on a mission song by song to give listeners something real, something organic, something true.
Her latest release “All The Waves” was written amidst all the chaos, with Valencia bringing a brave and hopeful sound, reminding us that the hardest of times can actually bring out the best in us.
The song speaks about how life’s struggles keep trying to knock us down, but where there is love there is still life and there is still so much more good ahead for us.
All The Waves takes inspiration from a really long, hard season I was going through that lasted really up until now and it's become even more relevant with everything going on in 2020. It's my way of comparing my fear of the waves to how I feel about the situations in my life and the hits that I've taken being likened to a succession of waves breaking over me.”
All The Waves
Valencia gets vulnerable in one of her darkest times and gives us a glimpse of how there is always hope on the horizon alongside co-writer and producer Harrison Wood and Peter James, whose works include contributing to a Grammy Award-winning song.
“All The Waves” was mixed by Sydney-based Ben Whincop (Stan Walker, Missy Langcaster) and mastered in Paris, France by Bruno Gruel (David Guetta, Kelly Rowland), and brings us Valencia’s signature dark and edgy voice aligned with new passion and hope. With influences ranging from Dua Lipa, Khalid and Halsey, Valencia delivers a honest and poignant song, casting light when we need it the most.
Feel The Power – Catholic Guilt
Melbourne, Australia’s Catholic Guilt are debuting a powerful new animated video for “Life In Three Part Harmony” off their acclaimed LP ‘This Is What Honestly Sounds Like,’ out now on Wiretap Records.
Singer Brenton Harris says, ‘Life in Three Part Harmony’ is a love song to the awesome connective power of live music. There’s something magical that happens when a music lover is watching their favourite act perform live. They become immersed in music. It takes over their mind, body and soul, and for those precious few minutes or hours, they are connected on a near-spiritual wavelength with the artist. This is a song for anyone who understands that moment when an artist hits the high note and it penetrates your soul, and you look around and notice another human experiencing that special rush too. That moment has completely changed each of our lives numerous times. On a personal note, this song is a celebration of my happiest place: the front row of a sold-out show, with my partner by my side, singing the words at the top of our lungs like our very existence depends on it.”
Of the animated video (produced and animated by Jed Newton), Harris adds, “Due to the pandemic, we’d been without live music in Melbourne since March, and to say we missed it a lot is an understatement. As a band playing live is obviously crucial to our existence, but it’s not just the playing that we missed, it’s all the little connections that come with it. Whether playing or attending a gig, it’s so much more than just a gig. It’s an opportunity to truly connect with other human beings and share a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A chance to catch up with friends or to meet new ones, an excuse to have a few drinks and sing yourself hoarse or mosh away the stress of daily life. It can be an avenue for escape or a safe space where you can be your truest self.
Life In Three Part Harmony
The vision for this video was to recreate the experience of a show in a way that would highlight all of those little connections that are currently missing from our lives without live music. If the FOMO we’ve felt watching it is anything to judge it by, then the animator Jed has absolutely nailed it. We hope you enjoy it.”

"We are moving towards the end of a year where many of us have experienced disappointments and perhaps a feeling of something being lost. In our part of the world one could easily start feeling as if the daily decrease in daylight hours is a double underlining of the misery that will be forever associated with 2020. There is no point in sweeping it under the rug; the pandemic has been, and still is, a total and utter bummer. It is affecting, and in the most negative of ways: our basic social needs, our instinct to move around travel, to do our job; you want to do it - Corona will stop you. But we do our best, and we find new paths in the dark. That is what humans do - and more often than not we are helped by not only those close to us - but by larger groups formed and joined by common interests, for example. The enormity of the support, and the strength of the community we have felt and experienced as Enslaved this year, has been fantastic. With fond new memories of a vibrant and expanding Enslaved-community throughout the very same year that tried so hard to bring us all down - perspectives start to change and brighten: these shorter and shorter days are definitely not a count-down to some impending doom on the horizon: they are reminders of the change that lies ahead of us. They will keep on darkening until that Shortest of Days - Winter Solstice. Whether you are guided and inspired by old traditions and rites like us, or if you prefer to stick to the scientific observations of Earth’s poles reaching their maximum tilt away from the Sun, before starting the way back towards warmer and sunnier days - we hope you will join us in what we expect to the be a very special and highly charged celebration of the Death and Rebirth of the Sun this year. It does not matter if the troubles are not “over” yet - we will celebrate through music and our bonds; that we have made it through 2020, that we are still here, that we still have our community and that we make each other strong. That strength will carry over, into yet another new solar cycle - and make us ready to face whatever the coming times have in store for us."

Pick And Mix – Deeplomatic Flavours Vol. 6
For their 108th release, Deeplomatic Recordings have curated a sixth compilation album, Deeplomatic Flavours Vol. 6,aspart of an ongoing album series that involves a mix of emerging and established house producers.
Composed of twelve sublime cuts, the compilation represents a range of house and its sub genres exploring the realms of tech and progressive house.
Taking the listener on a totally immersive journey. The compilation is kicked off in style with the hugely talented Australian producer, Amod3us, delivering a spacey yet percussive tune wrapped in dreamy vocals that make for a subtly moody production to begin proceedings. The second in the album comes Donluiz Musicue with a deep roller called “Uptown Groove”, a song full of lush synth pads and dreamy female vocals, backed by dubby bass lines. Daesmith is up next with a harmonic and minimalist take which is rich in detail and contains trippier elements whilst holding true to a sonic theme.
After lifting the mood into more progressive sounds in the track “My Way” by Dutxe, comes Gatto, who brings a deep hitting, story-telling minimalistic track full of light stabbing kicks and echoing vocal samples. Up next go Vriends Of Mine and Tony M3tric with their tracks “Assumptions” and “Espirales”, both of which provide faster paced minimal house sounds infused with disco and funk elements, perfect for indoor and outdoor partying.
The emerging duo of ELZACE initiates the second half of the compilation following up with more tech-savvy sounds with their track “Jazz Queen”, although don’t let this fool you as the sounds from an addictive deep roller intertwined with rumbling bass samples. In contrast, Spanish producer Nykko continues the ride with a house stomper, upping the groove with solid builds and a fast paced 4×4 beat. “I Wanna Live” by the hugely talented Taproz is next with a solid yet bouncy house cut packed with synth pads and wrapped tightly in seductive vocals. Up next goes Luk Follin with a heavier body-jerker that builds all the way through with progressive bass samples.
Deeplomatic Flavour Vol. 6
Concluding the twelve-track thriller faster paced track “Wallop” from DOBé. Touching on the darker aspects, DOBé showcases a heavier weighted track that contains dark, deeper and vibrant bass lines, creating an industrial-like atmosphere.
