Off With A Bang – Emma Webb
Emma Webb is an indie, folk, pop singer/songwriter living in Bristol, UK. Known for her distinctive style of acoustic pop, Webb has been influenced by an array of music and genres, and is particularly passionate about 90s artists such as Alanis Morissette, The Corrs, The Beautiful South and Natalie Imbruglia, whilst also being lyrically influenced by songwriters such as Paul Simon, Carole King and Joni Mitchell.
Her latest single “90s Playlist” captures Webb’s fond memory of a road trip alongside her nearest and dearest, all whilst singing her favourite 90’s music together. The song truly embodies her feelings of gratitude for her close friendships, with Webb sharing, “We blasted out 90s music all the way and harmonised the hell out of The Spice Girls!!”. Throughout the track are waves of stunning, angelic harmonies giving a subtle musical tribute to that day. The minimalist track is rich in feeling and is wonderfully mesmerising to engulf in the imagery presented by the lyrics.
“90s Playlist” emits soft symbols and drums which carry a steady, calm feeling throughout while also adding a wash of subtle power that induces the emotion felt in the meaning. The vulnerable lyrics are an open book of raw, visual storytelling, giving insight into her precious, personal moments and memories. Webb confides, “My music is all about unconditional love, self love, and discovering what’s really important in life. It’s very honest and all my songs are specifically about something or someone in my life.” The folk singer-songwriter has a familiar, gentle, sweet tone, filling the song up with her delightful words, warm vocals and fluttering, delicate guitar.
Webb has worked as a vocal and music teacher since leaving University in 2013 with a BA Hons in Music, where she trained in Classical music and Musical Theatre. The songwriter has sung live at BBC Radio Two on The Michael Ball Show, performed at BBC Proms in the Park, Hyde Park 2018 and 2019, as well as having performed as part of a choir with Susan Boyle and Michael Ball on Britain’s Got Talent. With “90s Playlist” currently available worldwide, Emma Webb is starting the year off with a bang!
Sunshine In These Rainy Days – Brooke Eden
Powerhouse vocalist Brooke Eden today announces the upcoming release of her song “No Shade.” After four years of finding love and acceptance that inspired her music both sonically and lyrically, Brooke Eden is back and ready to move mountains.
Part one of her three-part reintroduction, all produced by Jesse Frasure (Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Marshmello, Meghan Trainor, and more), “No Shade” will be available everywhere digitally on Friday, February 5th 2021. Each of the three tracks to be released in the coming months will be followed by music videos that share glimpses into her musical and personal journey and fit together as a trilogy. Championed by Billboard as a “fiery country star-in-the-making,” Brooke is ready to break barriers and standout with these punchy tracks that exude self-confidence and acceptance.
Pre-add and pre-save “No Shade” NOW
"I was talking to someone the day before we wrote 'No Shade' and I said, 'There's no shade coming your way from me,'" says Eden. "I wrote that down and thought there was something freeing in having no bad feelings toward someone who's done something bad to you. ‘No Shade’ is about your own self-awareness to take responsibility for yourself and start anew. It’s the perfect song to kick off the new music I am sharing in 2021!”
“No Shade,” written with Steven Lee Olsen and Brandon Day, reintroduces Eden with a clever play on a break-up song. Though more than that, it’s the story of a woman rediscovering herself after spending years in a situation that stifled who she was and who she wanted to be. “Nobody going to steal my sunshine or turn my blue sky grey / All I know is at the end of the day wildflowers grow when there ain’t no shade,” Eden sings, and you can hear the two meanings at work in her powerhouse vocal.
Eden wrote the new music in the years since her 2016 release of Welcome to the Weekend amongst a season of profound personal and professional growth. Hear more about her journey here.
Since making her debut, Eden has shared stages with country’s biggest stars like Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Sam Hunt, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, and Sugarland. Over the course of Eden’s career, she has amassed 37M Total On-Demand Streams and is a proud member of CMT’s “Next Women of Country.” Previously named Vogue’s “10 Country ‘It’ Girls” and PEOPLE’s “Seven New Country Acts You Should Check Out,” Eden has so much to share in 2021.
Blowing In The Wind – Hailey Whitters
Rising Country star Hailey Whitters releases “Glad To Be Here” (feat. Brent Cobb) from LIVING THE DREAM, a deluxe edition of her critically-acclaimed breakthrough album THE DREAM that will be released on February 26th via Pigasus Records / Big Loud Records / Songs & Daughters.
The deluxe album finds Whitters moving from fantasising about “the dream” to actually living it, calling upon her close friends and collaborators Brent Cobb, Jordan Davis, Hillary Lindsey, Little Big Town, Lori McKenna and Trisha Yearwood to contribute vocals to the fresh tracks.
“Throughout the whirlwind release of THE DREAM, I kept catching myself sayin', ‘I'm just glad to be here,’” explains Whitters. “I truly felt at peace with my process and was enjoying getting to see dreams come true that I had nearly given up on, believing they would ever happen. I went to go write a song about it, and realised Brent Cobb, Neil Medley, and Brent Rupard had already done it – and done it really well. I knew I couldn't top it, so I recorded this one and asked my pal Brent to sing on it with me. He went out on a limb by asking me to open for his SUCKER FOR A GOOD TIME TOUR in the fall of 2019, and he's also my favourite Country singer-songwriter of this generation, so it was a high honour to have him singin' on this one with me.”
“Glad To Be Here” (feat. Brent Cobb) follows the release of Whitters’ current single “Fillin’ My Cup” (feat. Little Big Town), which has racked up more than 3 million streams globally since its debut, and “The Ride” (feat. Jordan Davis).

“All of the artists featured on this project are responsible for me being able to hang up the apron strings and make music full-time,” says Whitters about LIVING THE DREAM. “The royalties from Little Big Town’s cut on ‘Happy People’ helped pay for part of THE DREAM, Brent Cobb and Jordan Davis were two of the first artists to take me on tour, Lori McKenna and Hillary Lindsey are my two songwriting idols and favourite co-creators, and Trisha Yearwood is one of the first artists that got me excited about moving to Nashville and pursuing Country music. I wanted to show fans full circle what ‘living the dream’ looks like for me – from where I started with ‘Ten Year Town’ to the bucket list moments that have resulted since I released my record, THE DREAM. I felt it was important to show them what can happen when you don’t give up on yourself.”
Whitters’ THE DREAM firmly established the Iowa-born artist as “Nashville’s Next Big Star.” By the end of 2020, it was hailed as one of the top albums of the year, landing at #1 on both Stereogum’s “10 Best Country Albums of 2020” and Garden & Gun’s “Best Southern Albums of 2020” lists. THE DREAM was named among the best albums of the year by The Washington Post, Paste Magazine, The Tennessean, and landed at #6 on Rolling Stone’s “30 Best Country & Americana Albums of 2020” list, who proclaimed, “The Dream is the type of record that could propel an artist as talented as Whitters in a million different directions.” Rolling Stone and American Songwriter also named her single “Janice at the Hotel Bar” one of the best songs of 2020.

The Hold Steady quickly achieved critical acclaim and a worldwide fanbase with its unique pairing of dense lyrical narratives with big rock guitars. The Hold Steady are releasing their eighth studio album Open Door Policy on February 19. Finn released his first solo album in 2012 with three additional solo LPs put forth since 2015 – Faith in the Future, We All Want the Same Things, and 2019’s I Need a New War, which coalesced into a sign-of-the-times musical trilogy. Consider This A Warning – Hanalei
This is your chance to hear some brand new material from the upcoming Hanalei album.
The brainchild of Brian Moss (The Ghost, Great Apes, Olehole, Wunder Years), the moniker has been a vehicle used to explore indie and folk-tinged soundscapes through a punk lens. The project has the flexibility to shift from full-blown band to a stripped-down solo endeavor, and each release tends to showcase a different manifestation. As of late, Brian’s been committed to self-recording with a fairly minimalistic setup. It’s been over 10 years since the release of One Big Night – the last proper Hanalei full length. Since then, Moss has trickled out various singles including split releases with Fifteen, Sundowner (Chris McCaughan of The Lawrence Arms), and Aspiga. “Screen Echoes” is the lead single from Black Snow which is due out on March 12th via A-F Records. BrooklynVegan is streaming the track now and described it as a cool dose of breezy indie rock that Weakerthans fans will probably dig.
“a non-linear, fictional collage”
I keep pinching myself to make sure I’m alive. Have we all been unknowingly transported into some cruel alternate universe where what was once confined to imagination has become reality? As I write this, California is burning and a pandemic is ravaging the globe. Police are murdering innocent people of color at-will, domestic terrorism is being thinly veiled as patriotism, facts and logic are ignored, a cartoonish, malevolent blob is nearing totalitarian control, and love is lost. This can’t be real. I began writing Black Snow roughly two years ago after finding out my wife was pregnant. The process served as a means of coping with the relentless anxiety and bouts of depression that polluted my expected joy. How could I bring a child into a world on the verge of collapse? The record is a non-linear, fictional collage, set in the not-so-distant future, following the destruction of our climate and the subsequent disintegration of modern society. The songs are primarily narrated from varying first person perspectives: the last standing bristlecone pine, a virus unearthed by fracking (this one was written a year before Covid hit and obviously feels eerily relevant now), the collective voice of animals subjected to human wrath, an estranged lover in a drought-parched Northern Californian landscape, a post-apocalyptic traveler who unearths a working smartphone, the self-serving climate change denier, a father and son choosing optimism and action over apathy and surrender, and so forth. Consider this a warning. Fiction is finding its way from far-flung to here and now.

An Intoxicating Experience – STEVIE-RAY LATHAM
Preparing a new EP for Spring 2021, STEVIE-RAY LATHAM returns with the first of its spoils: “Gashouse”.
Taken from the upcoming ‘Letters From Suburbia’ (out 12 March 2021), Latham is once again joined for the release by his backing band: The Nomads of Industrial Suburbia.
Loaded with a ricocheting guitar lick cut from the schools of Jack White or Edwyn Collins, “Gashouse” pairs a ghoulish delta-swamp cool to a sixties dance-hall strut.
Written with close friend and fellow art-student: Kyle Rodriguez Tester at his studio outside London, the creative process of “Gashouse” proved to be a more intoxicating experience than either could have possibly imagined…..
“Kyle’s studio space was in a wooden shed heated with an old gas heater and one night we were out there writing this song when we both started feeling pretty drowsy and out of it. Neither of us thought anything of it at the time and we finished writing the song before spending the rest of the night in hospital with Carbon Monoxide poisoning.”
STEVIE-RAY LATHAM
”Head down, back to the wall, blue face cause heaven is cold…” sings Latham, his lurking vocal hollow with the beckoning call of the great beyond. Hallmarked with the hammond-organ howls and warped fretboard trippery of a bygone era, “Gashouse” casts a brooding silhouette that will haunt and hook long after the needle has departed the groove.
Drawing on comparisons to Kurt Vile, Blake Mills, Nick Drake & Neil Young, StevieRay Latham is quickly making himself a name to be known with his distinctively dark, melodic, art-folk compositions. With influences ranging from movie scores and sound-art to pre-war Jazz and existentialist literature, the young singer-songwriter signed to the independent At The Helm Records whilst he was still at Art School and since graduating has released two albums, worked on a series of collaborations with visual artists, played festivals and headlined shows across Europe. Receiving airplay from BBC Radio 6 Music and Radio 2, over the years Latham has also been championed by media including Line of Best Fit, Q & Folk Radio UK.
New single “Gashouse” will feature on his upcoming, ‘Letters from Suburbia’; a record which will complete a trilogy of EPs released over the past 18 months. This collection of deeply poetic songs follows last year’s gritty, driving ‘Nomads Of Industrial Suburbia’ and 2019’s experimental-indie release, ‘Suburbia’.
Greek mythology and Gothic Blues collide on the profound 8 and half minute epic ‘Dionysus Blues’, ‘Gashouse’ marries 60’s Garage Rock with tales of La Résistance, whilst ‘Letter from Suburbia’ is a delicately picked folk-song that grows with the horns and percussion of a marching band. ‘Don’t Make Me Love You In Vain’ is a melancholy ballad that emerges from an ambient soundscape before melting into the EP’s atmospheric spoken- word coda, ‘Transient Circles’.
The Letters from Suburbia EP is released on 12 March 2021. Released with thanks to the Arts Council National Lottery Fund.
Recorded between Saunton Road Studios, ‘The Wedge’ and his parents’ home in the UK, plus time spent in a winter rental in Chateauneuf la Fôret, France; all songs for the EP were written and produced by StevieRay Latham, apart from “Gashouse” written with Kyle Rodriguez Tester. Mastered by Hippocratic Mastering, additional mixing was completed by Joe Duddell (New Order/Elbow/James) and additional engineering from Nomads’ accomplice Simon Murfet.
All songs are performed by The Nomads of Industrial Suburbia AKA StevieRay Latham (Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Percussion, Piano, Microkorg, Organ) Matt Street (Trumpet), Simon Murfet (Drums) and Laura Porter (Percussion, Backing Vocals).
Seeing Double – UNRIVALED
Cincinnati alternative punk band Unrivaled released their new single “Doppelganger”, the third track off of their upcoming debut album ‘Quarter Life Crisis’, set to drop on January 29th.
This track stands out from the two previously released singles with a slow buildup that leads into a driving yet bouncy sound.
“With the third single off our debut album, Doppelganger is one of our more "out there" rock tracks. We don't use a traditional verse section. We utilize the bass to bring a different approach to our song structure. It's a different vibe to what we've released before. The slow build is complemented with a fast and hard hitting pre-chorus creating a truly dynamic track. If you're looking for something upbeat, shreddy, and even with a dance beat, you'll take a liking to Doppelganger.”
Jimmy Alexander,
Hailing from Cincinnati, Unrivaled is a three-piece band that blurs the lines between punk and metal to create a sound that lives up to their name. Their formation began when guitarist Jimmy Alexander met up with drummer Austin Pflum in an attempt to create a spark in southwest Ohio. Along with the addition of Paul Lipps on bass, the band was born into existence at the beginning of 2019. Drawing influence from bands such as Rise Against and Green Day, they are looking to reinvent rock in their own image.
Since forming, they have been hard at work writing and spending time in the studio recording. When they were able before the pandemic, they had been playing shows throughout the local Cincinnati music scene opening for bands such as The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Eyes Set To Kill.

Following the announcement of their upcoming debut album, the band has released three singles off of it including “I’ve Relapsed”, “Still Alive”, and the new track “Doppelganger”. With no plans on looking back, Unrivaled is determined to make an impact with their debut album ‘Quarter Life Crisis’, set to release on January 29th, 2021.
Shining Bright – Lainey Wilson
Buzzed-about newcomer and “one of Country music’s most promising young stars,” (Whiskey Riff), Lainey Wilson today announces her hotly-anticipated studio album, Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ will be available to stream/download on February 19th 2021 via BMG/BBR Music Group, with a physical CD/vinyl release to follow on April 16th.
Those who pre-order or pre-save the digital album will immediately have access to the brand-new track and album opener, “Neon Diamonds” (a song which a prominent TV booker said he hadn’t “heard a more perfect ‘grab-you-in’ start to an album since Thriller”).
A prolific songwriter, Wilson co-wrote every song on the album, generously and courageously sharing her thoughts, stories, feelings and heart with the world. The lyrics, rooted in messages of honesty, thoughtfulness and authenticity showcase the Louisiana native’s awe-inspiring self-awareness, empowering others with her strength through vulnerability. As producer, GRAMMY® Award-winning mastermind Jay Joyce brought Lainey’s signature “Bell Bottom Country” sound to life, which blends traditional Country with a funky, yet modern flair. The Boot also notes her sound as “a cross between easy listening and hard truths.”
NEON DIAMONDS
“I am proud of every piece of this record and all the people that have helped bring it to fruition,” said Lainey Wilson. “Finally being able to share this body of work is the most fulfilling and rewarding moment of my life thus far.”
Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ includes her current radio single, “Things A Man Oughta Know,” which has garnered more than 35 million streams, earning a place on Spotify’s Nashville’s Worldwide Hot 50 and has been in the Top 5 consumption per spin and streams per spin for the past 17 consecutive weeks. A fan and critic favourite, the song was featured in NPR’s Best Music of 2019 saying it, “proves [Wilson] capable of blending a thoroughly countrified vocal approach with digitally sharpened contemporary production, thanks to the suppleness and body of her honeyed, crystalline twang.”
Already having music featured in the hit series Yellowstone three times, the rockstar performer has earned a host of recognition as a rising star—being named to a slew of “ones to watch” lists (Pandora, The Boot, Sounds Like Nashville, etc.) including MusicRow’s “Next Big Thing 2021,” being a part of CMT’s Next Women of Country and CMT’s Listen Up programs and being featured in publications like Forbes, Rolling Stone, New York Times, Billboard and NPR.
The “vocalist of unmatched talent, humbled by her characteristic humour and wit,” (American Songwriter) will return to the Grand Ole Opry stage Saturday, February 20th as part of her week-long celebrations for the album’s launch. Additional launch plans will be announced in the coming weeks.
