Hollywood, CA-based heavy rock & roll outfit BUDDERSIDE have shared the second single, “Pardon Me,” featuring Motörhead‘sPhil Campbell, from their upcoming sophomore album SPIRITUAL VIOLENCE out March 26 via Motörhead Music/Silver Lining Music.

Available now across all digital platforms HERE, “Pardon Me” was inspired by none other than the late Motörhead vocalist Lemmy Kilmister who personally signed them to his label before his passing and previously enlisted frontman and vocalist Patrick Stone (ex-Adler’s Appetite) from his famous “road crew.”

The animated video for “Pardon Me”—seen featured below—was, as STONE reveals, “inspired by my experience of meeting, being taken in by, working for and ultimately BUDDERSIDE being signed to Motörhead Music by Lemmy Kilmister.”

STONE explains that “’Pardon Me’ is an oath. A look at life from the perspective that only our hero Lemmy had. It’s a promise to live up to, declared to the greatest man that ever lived.”

SPIRITUAL VIOLENCE was recorded with legendary producer Jay Baumgardner (Bush, Godsmack, Papa Roach) and mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage). Its 10 tracks careen through STONE’s journey of overcoming addiction, loss and heartbreak to discovering resurrection with patience, perseverance and meditation set over soaring melodies and catchy refrains. Cinematic dream-pop duo – THE GHOST OF HELAGS – will release their debut studio album in 2021: ‘We Came From The Stars’.

Unfurling a string of mesmeric singles these past months, the Sweden-born, Berlin-based pairing of Teresa Woischiski and John Alexander Ericson confirm a 12-track album release for the 5th March this year.

Coupling Woischiski’s feather-light vocal and emotive lyricism with Ericson’s natural flair for conjuring crystalline electronica with soul, the duo deliver a set of stylised, other-worldly synth-pop.

Written all over the world in the days before “Coronavirus” was even a word and in the instances of relaxed relief between lockdowns this past year, ‘We Came From The Stars’ is a record born from the bohemian virtues of freedom and exploration. Alive with a wide-eyed sense of adventure, it’s a record that transcends borders and boundaries; its songs like postcards from a daydream world of international travel, freed of its current restrictions.

Written “on a wintery road in the midst of snowstorms at night en voyage from Vienna to Prague”, album opener “Chemistry” takes the listener into the frostbitten landscape from which it was concocted; it’s nocturnal synth-tronica an irresistible invitation for a journey into the unknown. “Parallel” beats with the heat of a summer festival in Antibes, whereas the dusky tenderness of “Night Summer Waiting” radiates with the warmth of the rooftops of Perinaldo, Italy, and glistens with the photographic perfection where it was written. The sweeping “Bye Bye Tokyo” soars with misty-eyed reflection and mixed emotion; a track created on an airplane as the duo sailed between the clouds with the unmistakeable Japanese landscape falling away beneath them. Whereas recent single “Mary”, conceived in the Giant Mountains district (between Poland and the Czech Republic) under the looming shadow of another lockdown, twitches with a ticking sense of time running out.

The brooding soundscapes of “Chemistry” or “Bye Bye Tokyo” could be cut straight from the pulsating Drive soundtrack, whereas the spectral presence of tracks like “Under My Skin” (a track reworked from their 2017 debut EP) or “Mary” would be right at home in the ethereal confines of the Twin Peaks’ smoky Bang Bang Bar.

Elsewhere, album centre-piece “Anthem (We Came From The Stars)” (from which the album takes its title), reaches into the realms of science-fiction with interstellar ambition. “It is where we are all from. Once there was a light. And then everything else followed.” says Woischiski.

With their dreamy cinematic pop notably cut from the same velveteen cloth as contemporaries like Chromatics or Still Corners, ‘We Came From The Stars’ often finds band expanding their sound to reveal a varied array of influences that peak from beneath the chrome-like sheen of their modus operandi.

Inspired by an unforgettable performance from the The Chemical Brothers in the south of France, the electrifying “Parallel” channels their pervasive Big Beat energy through the French Touch class of the surroundings it was written in. “Wicked Wind” pays tribute to the singular Kate Bush, its abstract lyrics and glacially-kissed melodies finding resonance with the down-tempo reflections of her ‘Sensual World’ era. Looking to the future, the serene alt.pop balladry of “In The Dark, Honey” unearths the vocal of rising Brighton-based talent Hayley Ross, who joins Woischiski in a stunning duet.

“”In The Dark, Honey” is our favourite sad song on the album.” says Woischiski. “It is hard to put in words how we feel about this song. The minute you put it on, it just catches you and leads you to an emotion inside of you, can be different for every person. The wonderful Hayley Ross collaborated on it with us. It was pure bliss to work with her.”

But like any journey, the road will always lead you home. Bringing the album to a breathtaking finale, the gospel-tinted “Autobahn Lullaby”, finds The Ghost of Helags’ compass pointing towards their newfound base in Berlin, where much of the album was finally mixed, mastered and produced by Woischiski and Ericson. While the closing track’s hymnal refrain: “And there’s a tomorrow, that I’m ready for….” may mark the end of the journey, its hushed sense of optimism sows seeds of endless possibilities and the prospect of myriad new adventures to come.

Patrick Lichfield (1939-2005) was an internationally renowned photographer who worked for all the major fashion magazines.

His pictures were exhibited worldwide, and he published several books during his career, with a retrospective ‘Perceptions’ published by Quadrille (2012). The National Portrait Gallery dedicated an exhibition to the first twenty years of his work in 2002.

His great break was when he was summoned by Diana Vreeland, the doyenne of fashion editors, to photograph the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and he was given a five year contract with American Vogue. In 1981 he was appointed official photographer at the wedding of his cousin The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer.

He is lesser known for his nude works, which are now proving very popular with collectors of fine art photography.

Strasbourg Strut – CELLAR DARLING

With “DANCE”, CELLAR DARLING have created a song that takes up the “Death and the Maiden” theme of their 2019 concept album “The Spell”, but at the same time adapts it into the here and now: a “dance of death”, an end-time vision.

In this epic 11-minute track, the Swiss heavy progressive rock trio takes the listener on a dark musical journey worthy of the band’s name, combining mystical folk elements with heavy riffs and intricate structures. Once again, the highly unusual instrumentation typical for CELLAR DARLING, including a hurdy-gurdy, flute, and piano, colours their signature sound. Inspired by the dancing plague of 1518, their lyrics for the first time do not tell of an exclusively fictional world but represent an examination of both our history and current events. Thus, CELLAR DARLING continue to move in a new direction, resuming the radical path they have chosen since departing from ELUVEITIE in 2016.

“Darlings, this is it. This is the reason we've been so quiet these past few months. This is DANCE. We have never put so much work into one piece of music before. And although we always want our music to speak for itself, we'd like to share a few words with you about the journey this song has taken us on. The story of 'DANCE' comprises three parts: Chapter I - PAST: As you might have guessed, 'DANCE' originated in the sessions for our concept album "The Spell". It was supposed to be another chapter of our story about a girl who falls in love with death, but the song ultimately didn't make the cut. It wouldn't quite leave us alone either, so about one year ago, we decided to dig it up and give it another go. Chapter II - PRESENT: As rewarding and exciting as the intense work on the concept of "The Spell" was — from creating a storybook soundtrack to putting everything into prose — once it was completed, we were done with it. Anna was ready to let go of that story and rewrote all of the 'DANCE' lyrics and most of the music. This time, inspiration came from two sources: the dancing plague of 1518, which is a fascinating story in itself, and an engagement with our contemporary world: doesn't it sometimes feel like we're in the process of dancing ourselves to death? Chapter III - FUTURE: This song, which we share with you today for the time being only as what it is, i.e. without a flood of images, is only the first part of this extensive project. Dan Potter Sings is the alias of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Dan Potter. His songs broadcast a wide spectrum of influences producing genre-defying songs in the process. Dan, who is based in Vancouver, BC Canada, is a ‘one man band’ and has turned his bedroom studio into a song factory, churning out tracks like some candy machine dispensing loud alternative rock music.

All three of his albums and singles released since 2013 were written and performed by him alone as an experiment in free expression. What was captured is steeped in individualism and personal circumstance; his lack of conformity has subsequently led to a sizable aesthetic variety of pop/rock music that continues to fascinate audiences into 2021.

The album’s title is a perfect statement describing Michael Schenker’s legacy, plus celebrating his 50th anniversary as a musician. The band have released a music video for their third single ‘Sail The Darkness’.

The album was predominantly recorded at Kidroom Studio in Germany, with Michael‘s long time partner Michael Voss who co-produced the album and also sings on two tracks. The cover artwork of Immortal was created by Zsofia Dankova (Powerwolf etc.).

Immortal will continue the tradition of the previous two MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST records Resurrection and Revelation featuring a big list of friends and guests. The album’s main vocalist is uprising Chilean born talent Ronnie Romero (Rainbow etc.), along with Michael Voss (Mas Max etc.), Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear) and Joe Lynn Turner (ex-Deep Purple, Rainbow etc.) singing on two tracks each. Besides Michael Schenker himself, the album was recorded with Steve Mann (keyboards), Barry Sparks (bass, Dokken etc.), as well as the three drummers Bodo Schopf, Simon Philipps (ex-Toto) and Brian Tichy (ex-Whitesnake). The newest addition to the record is keyboard player Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater, ex-KISS etc.), who plays on the album’s opening track, featuring German power machine Ralf Scheepers on vocals.

Immortal will feature ten tracks, including the magnum opus ‘In Search Of The Peace Of Mind’. “I wrote this song when I was 15 years old, it was my first ever written piece of music which I recorded with SCORPIONS on our first studio album Lonesome Crow in 1970, getting released in 1972. We re-recorded this song for my 50th anniversary as a celebration and it turned out to be an epic; with an extra extension at the end of the song, which turned out absolutely fantastic with Simon Phillips on drums, doing his usual amazing stuff.” The result is a true highlight and features even more surprises: “Gary Barden sings the first verse, continued by Ronnie Romero – and in the end we have Ronnie, Doogie White and Robin McAuley screaming their heads off, as a tribute to my 50th anniversary. Absolutely amazing. Thanks to the guys for doing this!“

The limited first edition of this upcoming MSG album will feature another unique extra: “It will include the MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST – Bang Your Head – Blu-ray, which was recorded during our headline show in Balingen/Germany two years ago: Unfixed, raw, pure and great! There’s a couple of small mistakes, but because the show and recording went so well, I decided to keep it the way it went on the night. It’s live, magic and pure.“

A Tin Pan Performance – Mamas Gun

During the heart of the global Lockdown which was striking change and uncertainty in most people’s lives, UK act Mamas Gun became the first band to ever perform and stream a whole concert absolutely live whilst stationed in separate locations to each other. Armed only with their mics, their instruments, their laptops and some mind blowing new technology provided by Tin Pan Studio.

In May 2020, this newly developed ultra low latency technology allowed Mamas Gun to perform live over the internet in real time for their global fanbase despite being based remotely & miles away from each other. The concert was a huge success with large numbers of viewers tuning in to ‘attend’ the gig. As a result of the extremely high quality audio taken during this live streamed show, the band have released recordings of some of these performances, capturing this exclusive and special moment in time on record. Mamas Gun’s The Tin Pan Sessions is the first ever commercial release of performances from a band recorded remotely, in real time.

Recorded simultaneously in 5 different locations using groundbreaking new technology

This ground-breaking technology was developed by Mamas Gun’s long term sound engineer Doug Hunt. When the pandemic hit, Doug started looking at ways to help bands perform together remotely over the internet. “Like everyone else, I came up short,” he says. “There just wasn’t anything available that had fast enough monitoring for professional musicians while providing great quality audio.”

Desperate to continue to make music with the bands he loved, Hunt set about creating what became Tin Pan Studio. The technology behind Hunt’s creation is unique and combines ultra-low latency server-based monitoring for the musicians, with studio-quality audio for the engineer to mix. Removing the disruptiveness of delays in audio and enabling a way for the bands own engineer to mix the feeds resulted in capturing extremely high quality recordings that also uniquely represent the exciting sense of unpredictability, adrenaline fuelled & energetic vibes that all great live performances offer.

"I've worked with Mamas Gun for many years. They were the perfect test bed for the new software as they have extremely high standards & are musically excellent. I knew if we could capture their recordings in this manner at the sort of quality levels demanded by them, we will have cracked something really special”.

The four recordings released as part of The Tin Pan Sessions in November were all key songs in the band’s journey that have helped Mamas Gun reach a sustainable level of success as an independent band.

Pots of Gold, a track from their debut album Routes To Riches, was first picked up by Chris Evans, (at the time a key presenter on BBC Radio 2) who hailed it as “the best track I have heard for a very long time”. The song brought profile and in a much bigger way than could ever been anticipated, becoming a top 10 chart hit in many territories including in Asia, a territory the band now tours semi-annually, regularly selling out large venues.

Red Cassette was originally featured on album Cheap Hotel and was their most playlisted radio track. A nod to technologies of age and now perhaps an ironic reflection, considering the technology used to record the EP.

The remaining two recordings are I Need a Win and This is the Day. Both tracks feature on the band’s latest album Golden Days and have been heavily supported by streaming services where they continue to be added to large playlists. In fact, the band has now surpassed 11 Million streams on Spotify alone and continues to grow daily.

Work on the band’s next record is well underway, and in between lockdown periods they have slowly but surely been completing new studio material due for release in 2021. RE-SCHEDULED RELEASE – ACCEPT

Unfortunately, with a heavy heart we have to postpone the release of the new ACCEPT album Too Mean To Die from January 15th to January 29th 2021.

Due to a COVID-19 related pressing plant closure the finished product has been massively delayed so that the planned release on Jan 15th 2021 cannot be kept. We are very sorry about this and we hope that all ACCEPT fans are understanding of this very unfortunate situation and continue to support the band. It has been over three years since the last ACCEPT album, so we hope you can wait another two weeks for the new masterpiece.

In order to shorten the waiting time for their fans, the band has decided to release their video for the track ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ together with a digital single on January 15th.

‘Zombie Apocalypse’ is a classic ACCEPT cracker: dynamic and unwavering, turned up to eleven!

Relentless and hard, it strikes the same tone as ‘Too Mean To Die’ in the band’s signature style. The 3rd single will again be accompanied with a wink – this time about one of our most current diseases – and be assured it’s not Corona:
