Sonic Muscularity – TEMPLE INVISIBLE
Marking their 10th Anniversary in 2022, TEMPLE INVISIBLE return with brand new music to share.
Releasing the gripping “Hold” today (11 Feb), it arrives as a first glimpse of the ‘Chiasm’ EP, which will be the band’s first extended release for over 5 years when it arrives on 29 April 2022.
Fusing slinking trip-hop grooves to a track of their trademark industrial intensity, the duo of Irina Bucescu and Costas Ivanov prove they’ve lost none of their bite on their beguiling latest proposition.
TEMPLE INVISIBLE RELEASE NEW SINGLE “HOLD” OUT NOW
NEW EP – ‘CHIASM’ – WILL BE RELEASED 29 APRIL
A track about the inherent inquisitiveness of childhood and the powerful, expressive energy of human instinct, Irina explains:
““Hold” is about transforming our unconscious fascination for the past into the full force of the present moment. It is about the enthrallment that the small child has for his parents, about our perception of the feminine and masculine energies, the essential duality of our psyche, about bringing awareness to our unconscious attachment to our past and the unconscious burden of trying to recreate it. That "force" is our authenticity, which needs to be free from irrational and limiting constraints from our past, in order to bloom. The elation we're talking about means that we don't want to be a "walking life situation", but a living, breathing being. It's no small feat - finding balance. And in that process of deconstruction there is a mixture of first becoming aware of and then releasing aggressiveness, the need to control everything and, eventually, the feeling of loss. This initial "loss" transforms into finding that inner intersection, the chiasm of our true, authentic power and the actions that align with it.”
Striking somewhere between the spheres of Nine Inch Nails and Portishead, “Hold” creeps with sinister intent, Bucescu’s breathless vocals building over industrial beats as if commanding a mighty mechanism with sonic muscularity alone, the malevolent symbiosis of human and machine.
Raw Primal Force – WATAIN
Notorious Swedish black metal collective Watain are proud to announce that they will team up with Norwegian genre icon Abbath for a co-headline tour entitled ‘Chariots Of Fire European Tour 2022‘, featuring a London date on 30th September at venue Earth.
With the addition of Swedish dark metal shooting stars Tribulation and unconventional Swiss blackened death metal duo Bölzer, this is the tour that European extreme metal fans truly deserve, after a seemingly endless period of drought.
E. Danielsson of Watain comments: "We can finally announce our first European Tour for 'The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain': The CHARIOTS OF FIRE tour, in the fall of 2022. The name of the tour is taken from the first lyric line of the first song of the new album, but it’s also an ode to the song by Bathory, a band whom we share a great passion for with our tour companion, the one and only ABBATH. Joining us are also the unique powerhouses Tribulation and Bölzer."
Watain recently released new single ‘The Howling‘ – taken from their upcoming new studio album, The Agony & Ecstasy Of Watain, due out on April 29th 2022.

Pre-order/Pre-save new album The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain: PRE-ORDER
|
Watain crawled out of Satan’s **** in 1998, and have since then ascended and grown into one of the world’s most well known and notorious Black Metal bands. Their legacy is often referred to with fear, love, confusion or awe, but seldom with indifference.
Their infamous live shows have become a worldwide phenomenon; inimitable ceremonies of wild Black Metal fanatism where the sacred and solemn collides with raw unadulterated force. With their greatly anticipated seventh studio album, Watain continues to arouse and electrify their audience with an unmistakable, adventurous brand of Black Metal Magic, processed and distilled over the course of a 25-year long history.
Recorded live by long time collaborator Tore Stjerna in his infamous Necromorbus studio, now re-located to an old church on the Swedish countryside, The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain takes the listener one huge step closer to the innermost heart of a band that despite always being surrounded by rumors and controversy has always strived for a most sincere and genuine form of expression.
With 10 songs written by the founding trinity of Watain (E. Danielsson, H. Jonsson and P. Forsberg), it is also the first Watain album to be recorded live with a full line-up completed by A. Lillo, H. Eriksson and E. Forcas.
The material is further enriched by noble contributions from Farida Lemouchi (ex. The Devil’s Blood, now in Molassess) and Gottfrid Åhman (ex. In Solitude, now in PÅGÅ).
The lyrics, always a central aspect of every Watain album, range from manic proselytism to profound contemplation on the relativity between life and death, sacred and profane, holy and unholy, agony and ecstasy, eagerly excavating the winding depths of mind and spirit with a new sense of clarity and determination.
Characterized by a morbid sense of beauty mingled with raw primal force, Watain is the wolf that keeps hunting, fearless and free, in the dark night of man.
A Hug Of A Song – Nina Nesbitt
Nina Nesbitt lines up a big year ahead with the release of her brand-new single ‘When You Lose Someone.’ It comes as she continues work on her eagerly anticipated new album, which will follow later this year.
Exploring the overwhelming intensity of grief, Nina wrote the song during a time of introspection and emotional turmoil. Set to mournful strings and elegant piano, Nina’s voice is full of feeling and longing as she candidly comes to terms with the situation. “It’s not something that just fades over night,” she sings, “It’s something that stays for the rest of your life.”
‘When You Lose Someone’ also has another trait of a classic pop song – the ability to be interpreted in different but immensely personal ways. For some it will be about the death of a loved one, for others it will be about a break-up or even separated by distance. Whatever it means to the listener, Nina’s performance is a warm comforting hug of a song that reminds listeners that they’re not the only one battling through such emotions.
Listen to ‘When You Lose Someone’ HERE.
Speaking about the track, Nina reveals, “Whether someone has passed away or for whatever reason isn’t in your life anymore, grief has many forms and facets. Learning to be without someone you love is one of the hardest things.’’
Also announced, Nina is confirmed to join British singer and songwriter, James Arthur for a North American Spring Tour. The 20-date run kicks off April 21st in Seattle, and includes performances in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston and more, before concluding on May 20th with a show at Pier 17 in New York City. ‘When You Lose Someone’ serves as the follow up to ‘Life’s A Bitch’, with its intricately textured alt-pop-meets-80s vibes. Check out a beautiful acoustic performance of the song HERE, directed by Jon Stone.

Nina’s new music follows the huge global fanbase she established with her second album ‘The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change’. That project accumulated over 530 million streams, including 100 million+ for the Radio 1 playlisted ‘The Best You Had’ – a song that won over famous fans led by Taylor Swift and Chloë Grace Moretz. ‘The Sun Will Come Up…’ and its subsequent deluxe edition elevated Nina to a place in Spotify’s Top 500 artists in the world as while her tracks have featured on over a thousand of the platform’s playlists. That album raised the bar for the singer, songwriter, and producer as she emerged from a rising prospect to an artist with a global reputation. The album amassed a staggering half-a-billion streams (including for the now classic ‘Loyal To Me’ which was Top 10 most added at Top 40 radio) and propelled her into Spotify’s top 500 artists in the world. Earning acclaim from the likes of Marie Claire who praised the album for its “Joyful, dance-y pop with wrenching indie ballads, displaying a newfound maturity in the…songwriting,” and Billboard Magazine who hailed it “an iridescent work of pop mastery, showcasing Nesbitt’s proficiency as a songwriter, vocalist and producer,” with V Magazine proclaiming, “’The Sun Will Come Up’… captures the precise moment an artist finds herself blossoming into a full-blown pop star.”
Nina’s growing global reputation was further emphasized when she was named by Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for the Woman of the Decade Award at Billboard’s Women in Music event. Nina would go on to win her own Women in Music Award, this time at the 2021 Scottish Music Awards.
Other highlights of 2021 included hitting #1 on TikTok UK’s Hot 50 with ‘Summer Fling’, collaborating with Seeb on ‘Sweet Dreams & Dynamite’ (which was also remixed by The Sticksman Project), and headlining the first ever Metaverse Festival alongside deadmau5 and Paris Hilton. Nina was included in an international campaign with Tiffany for their new Rose Gold perfume. It features her modernist take on The Beatles’ classic ‘All You Need Is Love.’
Her collaborations to date have included countless collaborations, from dance acts Deacon (‘Long Run’), NOTD (‘Cry Dancing’) and R3HAB (‘Family Values’), to singer-songwriters Sasha Sloan and Charlotte Lawrence (‘Psychopath’) and global stars Jonas Blue (‘Desperate’) and Sigala (‘Somebody’). A particular highlight was teaming up with Ranji and WHITENO1SE. The duo had remixed ‘The Moments I’m Missing’ and dropped it at Ultra Music Festival, the reaction being so big that Nina subsequently joined them at a show in Mexico City in front of 20,000 people. Nina started 2021 by performing as a special guest at Liam Payne’s livestream event ‘LP Show Act 4’. In addition to her own set, she also joined him for the duet ‘For You’.
“When You Lose Someone” is out now.
Scorching Your Ears – syk
Italian avant-extreme metal collective syk will unleash their long-awaited new full-length, Pyramiden, on March 11th via Housecore Records in North America and Nuclear Blast in Europe, today unveiling the record’s cover art, track listing, and first single.
Pyramiden was composed and recorded over the course of three years, the seven-track offering was mixed in the Winter of 2020/2021 at Inverno Studios under the supervision of Fabrizio Gesuato, while mastering took place at Anselmo’s own Nodferatu’s Lair with Stephen Berrigan at the helm. The record features artwork by Elena Romenkova.
Comments Ferrian, “Pyramiden is about finding the way to isolate oneself to all the uneasiness coming from society, then find a suitable space to face one's uneasiness. It’s being in the farthest place on earth where silence gives room to all sorts of visions or hallucinations. As with the previous release, Pyramiden follows the alchemic principle of dissolving in order to assume a new shape but diving far deeper into obscurity where surviving means, in fact, to invent light into darkness.”
syk, featuring founding guitarist and principal songwriter Stefano Ferrian (ex-Psychofagist), vocalist Dalila Kayros, rhythm/lead guitarist Marcello Cravini, and new recruit, drummer Mauro Maraldo (ex-Onirik), have been scorching ears and torching souls for nearly a decade. Led by the nihilistic vocal assault of Kayros, syk is at once grim and complex; relentless and alluring, fusing the tight, rhythmic pummeling of Meshuggahwith the haunting melodies of Björk.
Following their debut LP Atoma (2014), the band released their second effort, I-Optikon, on Housecore Records (2016). Produced by Philip H. Anselmo, I-Optikon reaped critical accolades from fans and critics in the know. Lauded New Noise Magazine, “We just haven’t heard anything even remotely like this before – and I don’t think we’re going to forget it anytime soon.” Echoing Magazine championed, “Female vocals that carry a yell like Exene Cervenka, as done with the same power as Henry Rollins,” while Skulls ‘N’ Bones likened the listen to, “… a trip through the empty, shattered halls of someone’s emotional insane asylum,” adding, “it’s music to swallow glass by.”

1. Pyramiden
2. The Palest White
3. The Hollow Mother
4. Zoas
5. Promethean

7. Cell Of The Sun

Party On – Dustin Lynch
Heading straight for sunny days ahead, Broken Bow Records star Dustin Lynch is finding the BLUE IN THE SKY with his fifth studio album, available everywhere NOW.
“BLUE IN THE SKY is OUT! I couldn’t be more proud of this album and where I’m at right now in my career,” shares Lynch. “Life couldn’t look any brighter coming off the success of “Thinking ‘Bout You,” and rolling into this next chapter with “Party Mode.” I’m pumped for everyone to hear these songs and do some life with them.”
Up for fun, ready to ride at a moment’s notice, living life on his own terms, and seeking all the sweetness (and maybe a little bit of trouble) that one can get, BLUE IN THE SKY is a grown-up party record that lands Lynch somewhere between George Strait and Brooks & Dunn. Serving up a sweltering, swaggering take on his forward-tilting traditionalism, this 12-track batch produced by Zach Crowell – with five to his songwriting credit – work like a handful of postcards from the kinds of moments you want to remember alongside party guests Riley Green, Chris Lane, and MacKenzie Porter – as featured on recent six-week #1 “Thinking ‘Bout You” collaboration.
Prescribing himself a surefire cure-all in brand-new swaying single, “Party Mode,” Lynch’s “90 proof way to make it work” buzzes with some serious side effects. A true barroom sing-along with a 2-for-1 hook, neon vocals, and on-the-house chasers of dobro and steel guitar, it finds a guy drowning his sorrows over lost love – only to end up right back where the party started.
Inviting his real-life friends Cornbread and Corbin Wilson to star in his “Party Mode” music video, the cinematic clip premiered on YouTube (10/2) as Lynch goes on a post-breakup getaway that he barely survives – literally. Directed by Mason Dixon, the Jerry Flowers, Ryan Beaver, Roman Alexander, Jared Keim, and Matt McGinn-penned lyrics serve it up strong as the ultimate soundtrack for a wild ride of Florida escapades.
“This video was such a blast to shoot! Bringing my buddies, Cornbread and Corbin, down to Florida to get rowdy with me – that’s the good stuff,” adds Lynch. “If y’all know us, you know we like to keep it in “Party Mode” year-round, so if you run into us out on the town … we've got the first round!”
First announcing the new album during an ABC’s Good Morning America appearance, Lynch is currently on a fast-track to a new level of stardom. As American Songwriter’s February digital cover exclusive, the music magazine hails, “Dustin Lynch Reaches for All the Stars on Fifth Album,” while he’s spotted in high-profile features with Nashville Lifestyles, The Tennessean, PEOPLE, and more.
In celebration of BLUE IN THE SKY, iHeartMedia presents the iHeartCountry Album Release Party with Dustin Lynch at the iHeartRadio Theater Los Angeles in Burbank, CA, on Monday (14/2). The event, hosted by Amy Brown, will feature a performance and intimate interview. Fans can tune-in to the livestream on iHeartRadio’s YouTube and broadcast across iHeartMedia’s Mainstream Country radio stations at 10pm ET/3am GMT.

Small Town Boy – Tim Dugger
Alabama native Tim Dugger recalls his hometown roots on brand new single ‘Heart of a Small Town‘, out today (11/2) following an exclusive first play on the Country Show with Bob Harris yesterday (10/2) on BBC Radio 2. Listen here.
The descriptive song, which he wrote with Brandon Hood and Tim Nichols, depicts Small Town USA down to its one stoplight and lone church steeple. Dugger even pays tribute to the late Joe Diffie with a nod to ‘John Deere Green’.
Like lightning bugs in a mason jar, he captures the red, white and blue magic of the South with a richly textured track full of guitars, drums and fiddles, produced by Hood.
‘Heart of a Small Town’ is the NASCAR enthusiast’s first taste of new music following his MCC/Curb Records debut, Signs of a Good Time.
Curb Records recording artist, singer/songwriter, and Alabama-native Tim Dugger grew up on NASCAR racing, Gospel singing and classic Country music. He developed a genuine love for songwriting and storytelling during summers spent at his local music store jamming with bluegrass pickers. After being introduced to former NASCAR driver and team owner Richard Childress, Dugger was off to the races, playing his original songs at nearly every major track in America. Along the way, he cultivated an unapologetic artistic identity, rooted in the music of his childhood idols like Merle Haggard, Vern Gosdin, Hank Williams, and Alan Jackson. Tim made his Grand Ole Opry Debut in December of 2021. Dugger’s six song EP, Signs of a Good Time, produced by Dan Huff protégé Brandon Hood is available now.
