Everette – Country As Hell
Hot off the heels of their Grand Ole Opry debut that received a standing ovation, Everette – comprised of Brent Rupard and Anthony Olympia, release their addictively catchy new song “Gonna Be A Problem”.
Pumping the song with their Country as hell vocals, whiskey smooth harmonies and bluegrass, energetic beats, “Gonna Be A Problem” – written by Everette with Ryan Tyndall and Bryan Simpson – tells of the lengths we’ll go to for someone we’re interested in and how crazed it can make us.
Originally holding the song for himself, Jordan Davis heard the guys perform it live out on the road and was instantly blown away. He quickly convinced the duo to cut it and make it their own (as the original demo was more Pop-Country versus the back porch, twang Everette is known for).
“Since Jordan loved the song so much, we invited him to sing background vocals on it,” adds Rupard. “He came into the studio and killed it! We love how this song turned out, and we hope you dig it too.”
‘“Gonna Be A Problem’” puts a unique spin on the ‘boy meets girl in a bar’ song,” says Olympia. “With bits of our real life experience meeting our wives, it tells the story of that neon moment when you meet someone, and you immediately know they’re about to wreck your world in all the right ways.”
n celebration of the song’s release, Everette takes their “back-porch Rock and Roll” (Taste of Country) packed with “high-energy grooves and airtight harmonies” (Billboard) across the pond to perform at C2C this weekend. Then, the duo will join Brothers Osborne out on the road for their We’re Not For Everyone Tour.
Having perfected their signature sound of “soulful, laid-back twang-pop with clever lyrics and catchy hooks” (Rolling Stone), “Gonna Be A Problem” – produced by Ben Phillips – is out now.
SPIRAL SKIES – Reaching For The Knob
Stockholm’s heavy psychedelic rock band SPIRAL SKIES has released their third single, “Into The Night,” from their eagerly awaited sophomore album, “Death Is But A Door,” that’s due March 25th via AOP Records.
Commenting on the new song the band states: ‘Into the Night’ is a piece with dazzling riffs, dueling guitars and big refrains that will take you on a ride “far beyond the moonlight”, while reaching for the louder-volume knob.”
SPIRAL SKIES is an orchestra who plays what can most easily be described as “on other planets kinda rock.” Fronted by the charismatic singer Frida whose voice has been compared to Grace Slick and Kate Bush, Spiral Skies´ sound is a fine blend between 70’s psychedelic rock and 80’s heavy metal, with lots of spices of doom, folk and fuzz all mixed in a dark and whirly brew.
Spiral Skies has enchanted their audience and listeners since 2015, and released their highly appreciated debut album “Blues for a Dying Planet” in 2018. The band gained a lot of attention for their unique music style, combining a lot of different elements such as melancholy, fast riffing and blackened surf guitars as well as a memorable performance at Sweden Rock and tours through Europe, opening for acts like High on Fire, Orange Goblin and Truckfighters to name a few.
The band entered studio Ryssviken (Tribulation, Lucifer, Dead Lord) in May 2021 to record their second album, ”Death is but a Door,” together with producer Emil Drougge, which will be released thru AOP Records on March 25th 2022.

With A Bright Light He Came – BOB LOG III
As you recline outside El Charro Cafe, Mount Lemmon in the distance, sipping on a cold Modelo and chomping down on a delicious El Vegan Burrito, it's difficult to see what's not to like about Tucson.
I read somewhere that Bob Log III was bored growing up in that Saguaro filled haven, but boredom has never been an issue here. After all, Kid Congo Powers has recently made Tucson his home , so it can’t be all bad. Can it?
In order to set the record straight, we had no choice but to front him out and also ask how he found playing in London.
What ? Tucson rocks ! What we do in Tucson .. is make our own fun. That’s not boring at all ! Paint your picture, write your book, learn to play guitar like nobody else .. That’s why I love it. It’s not an endless barrage of theatre plays and festivals .. It’s a place where you have time to make your own thing. And you can park anywhere !
We are London .. London London London .. The rest of the world sucks cause we are London . Tucson is amazing ! I am lucky every time I’m there.
Don’t you dare say anything bad about Tucson ! That’s all me and my Duck have to say".
BOB LOG III
Bob Log III was playing The Garage, Islington. It’s always a slow fill at The Garage on a school night but the dedicated and excitable crew that had been champing at the bit for ‘Doors Open’ had quickly descended on the merch’ stall to ensure they could snaffle some top quality promotional items that, perhaps, can only be found at a Bob Log show.
Naturally, the iconic purple T-Shirt depicting a triumphant Bob sat astride a unicorn leaping over a rainbow had already sold out in some sizes but there was still an opportunity to snatch some beautiful coloured vinyl, some hot sauce (for the adventurous chefs out there) or even a limited amount of Bob’s bottled bath water. Without opening said bottle, one could only imagine a heady, intoxicating blend of Bob’s manly sweat, Radox bath crystals and perhaps a hint of Patchouli oil. A bottle of this sacred mixture should surely be kept tightly closed, held precious, not to be opened but for an extreme emergency. Indeed, our prized item shall sit in the refrigerator between the Holy Water and a vial of Elvis’ tears.
Two acts preceded Bob Log III. First up was post punky Daemönik Fonce, fronted by Stewart and Paul Summers and, if we are not mistaken, ex Tits Of Death, Hannah Edgreen on keys.
Building the excitement to a climactic level, in the middle slot, was Thomas Trudax, a musical and mechanical genius whom we shall read about in a later stand-alone review.
Like an overfilled balloon or a heart stuffed with love, or an overfilled heart-shaped balloon over-stuffed with love, the crowd seemed ready to burst, and like those balloons that were soon to follow, burst they did.
With a bright light he came. All dressed up like an Evel Knievel from hell.
Quietening the crowd before commencing his full-on assault, Log requested beer, vodka and a dry white wine be placed strategically on the stage, where he couldn’t accidentally kick them over. Dutifully, various audience members brought forth the liquor and Bob briefly gave his introduction. “On cymbals, left foot. Over here on the bass drum we got right foot. This is my left hand that does all the slide work, right hand does the pickin’. My mouth hole does most of the talkin’. And you’re looking at my finger. My finger is an asshole”.
His face remained a mystery but his enthusiasm and love of performing was infectious.
Bob Log began thrashing, smashing, plucking, picking, stomping, stamping and toasting his way though a blistering, mind bending set at The Garage. The trademark Dingy was on-stage, but there was to be no Dinghy surfing this night, and alas, no Boob Scotch either but it didn’t matter, Ducky would eventually take centre stage and, much to the alarm of the beleaguered security staff, there was lots of toast to be made.
Yessir, the toaster was out and Bob summoned the masses to make toast at will, stating ‘his songs actually sound better if you can smell toast’. Again, the audience obeyed; disregarding security, jumping the barrier and feeding the toaster two slices at a time. As the bread heated up and the smoke bellowed, Bob began burning up the stage with more mesmerising licks and riffs.
To keep the party going, a sack of balloons appeared and was split between Bob and the crowd. Stamping on a balloon would then signal the start of a song. It was one of the funnest parties you could want for.
What was that you said. How do essentially the same sounding songs with the same chords and mostly the same rhythms sound so good?
Bob Log has got some masterful skills, he’s clever. He may not have a monkey paw for a hand but he has rather long fingers and is a man with extraordinary coordination. Let’s not forget, Bob Log is a one man band, he is the music; the guitar and drums a continuation of him. I tell you, Bob Log knocks Sonny Landreth into a cocked hat!
Islington is a whole world away from Tucson and Bob Log wasn’t on top of Mt Lemmon now, he was on top of the god damned world.
With a short breath between high speed jangling Blues riffs, Ducky was brought to the front of the stage, filled with Bucks Fizz and the audience were beckoned to participate in drinking from the Duck. Drink they did. At first carefully, one by one before madness once again took over and the entire contents of Ducky were poured over the front row.
It may have been a health and safety nightmare, but it was sticky fizzy fun for all.
The pauses were brief, no sooner had the enigmatic Bob Log III congratulated himself or thrown out a victory salute, then the attack would continue. The Rubato tempo, slowing and speeding up in waves, a Tsunami of masterful guitar skills.
The final overpowering of the security came about with a sea of people washing over and around the barriers following Bob’s suggestion that anyone who wants a selfie with him should come up and sit on his knee and take one. It was an insane clamber of bodies; drunk, sober and everything in-between. A stage rush frenzy akin to the midnight chimes on New Year’s Eve, a complete chaotic melt-down.
Had a fantastic time at The Garage and it sounded amazing . I don’t know how I did that".
Bob Log III
Possibly, this may be one of the best nights of many peoples lives. It was Hasil Adkins, Legendary Stardust Cowboy, Clownvis and more all rolled into one. This was the kind of show you wanted to tell the world about, the kind of show where you might find Lux Interior lurking in the wings. Who knows? Maybe he was.
Above all, it was a unique rock and roll dance party, as weird and wonderful as us.

An Unholy Alliance – Hellblind
Hellblind, the exciting new project from long-term collaborators Mark Clayden (Pitchshifter) and Paul Fletcher (Romeo Must Die, This Is Menace), have released their debut single ‘Hitched’, taken from upcoming debut EP ‘A Plague On All Your Houses’ due for release March 23rd 2022 on Revenger Records Via Cargo.
Formed in 2021 due to their frustration with lockdowns and cancelled shows, Clayden and Fletcher made a pact to conjure up the heaviest music they’d ever written; and boy have they succeeded.
Combining the throat of Stampin’ Ground (Adam Frakes-Sime), arms of Romeo Must Die (Will Romain), fingers of This Is Menace (Paul Fletcher), eyes of Pitchshifter (Mark Clayden) and scars of Outside the Coma (Charley Olsen), if Hellblind were a witches brew, you’d expect something dark, unnerving and heavy. But the coming together of these scene veterans has spawned an unholy alliance with a difference.
Produced, mixed and mastered with Scott Atkins (Cradle of Filth, Venom Prison) at Grindstone Studios, their explosive debut EP ‘A Plague On All Your Houses’ sees Hellblind deliver straight-shooting, savage, unapologetic and pissed off metal.
A hailstorm of noise from start to finish, there’s nothing subtle about Hellblind. The EP sees the group combining furious, unrelenting riffs, sinister vocals, thunderous basslines and brutal, pounding drums in a full throttle musical assault that’s enough to induce whiplash.
HELLBLIND ARE:
Adam Frakes-Sime – Vocals
Mark Clayden – Bass
Paul Fletcher – Guitar
Charlie Olsen – Guitar
Will Romain – Drums
Prior to the release of the EP comes it’s leading single ‘Hitched’, released today. Ear-shatteringly aggressive rock at it’s absolute finest, ‘Hitched’ is full of addictively heavy riffs, growling vocals and the odd double-bass drum attack thrown in for good measure.
Speaking about the single, vocalist and lyricist Adam Frakes-Sime states: “Hitched is about the slow build of resentment within a marriage gone bad. The slow unraveling of respect for one another as the constant unwinnable battle wages, amid the feeling of loss of one’s true self to another.”

Meticulously Crafted – IATT
Philadelphia based extreme metallers IATT are gearing up for the release of the band’s highly anticipated new album “Magnum Opus“, which will be coming out on May 27 via Black Lion Records.
After the previously released first single “Seven Wandering Stars” (featuring Jake Superchi from UADA), the band has shared a brand new video clip for the track “Elixir of Immortality”.
IATT comments: "From hypnotic bells to crushing buzz saw riffs, Elixir Of Immortality envelopes the listener with each punishing rhythmic hit. An infectious groove that drags you down into the abyss with each dissonant chord; Don’t get caught sleeping when the bell tolls for you.."
Meticulously crafted to pick up thematically where its predecessor left off, on “Magnum Opus” the listener is catapulted from the 1700s (Arsenic Ways) further back in time to a much darker, older world and the esoteric sciences of Alchemy. It was in this time man aimed to harness the world around him, bending the natural elements in a quest to obtain power, knowledge, control, and even immortality itself. Alchemy was the key to unlocking the secrets of existence and elevating one’s self to the pinnacle of enlightenment through transmutation and manipulation of the earthly elements. It was only through the process of Magnum Opus (the great work) that alchemists could harness the elementals in their purest form to create the Philosopher’s Stone – the key to power, enlightenment, and immortality.
Just as in alchemy itself, creating this album has been a journey of transformation; a period of great growth as individuals and as a unit. It’s through adversity, struggles, and the forging of the elements – of literal blood, sweat, and tears – IATT strive to transcend and elevate to their highest self, “the great work”, “Magnum Opus“.
Tracklist:
1. SERVITUDE SUBJUGATE
2. OUROBOROS
3. PRIMA MATERIA
4. ELIXIR OF IMMORTALITY
5. EXCULPATE EXONERATE
6. DEMIURGOS (ARCHITECT OF DISASTER)
7. PLANES OF OUR EXISTENCE
8. SEVEN WANDERING STARS
9. CHRYSOPOEIA (BONUS TRACK FOR CD)
“Magnum Opus“ was produced by Joe Cantamessa and got mixed and mastered by Marcos Cerutti. Stunning cover artwork by Nightjar art of Adam Burke. Furthermore, the album features guest performances by musicians from UADA, RIVERS OF NIHIL, EMPEROR, WINDFAERER + more.
The album is available for pre-order HERE
An Emotional Journey – Ante-Inferno
Following their acclaimed debut album “Fane”, UK black metallers Ante-Inferno have announced to release their sophomore full length record, entitled “Antediluvian Dreamscapes“, on May 13th via Vendetta Records.
Featuring 7 brand new tracks, with “Antediluvian Dreamscapes” Ante-Inferno have created a dark and mournful, harsh and desolate universe, taking the listener on an emotional journey through the spheres of atmospheric black metal.
Ante-Inferno comments: Welcome to our Antediluvian Dreamscapes: seven pitiless memorials to a life that once was and may never be. Seven gateways, bound thickly with the blood of ages beyond; a celestial mirage whose tendrils enshroud the listener in fathomless depths of human misery. Arise, as you are transported through the veil of life and death, past and future, to a place where the birth of time unites with the end of all time. A place where the rising waters of the flood collide with the battery of wars to come; where, as we drown in the shadowed waters of holy vengeance, so too are we engulfed in the flaming fire of the eschaton, driven out of Hell. Will you continue to dangle precariously from the thread of life, a mere witness to this nightmare? Or will you plummet into the depths of eternity, a shade forgotten by time, a transcendental vision no more tangible than the failing light of a star at the end of its existence? We invite you to listen.
To shorten your wait for Ante-Inferno’s upcoming album, the band has just released a first and enthralling album single, one that will most likely leave you with a hunger for more! Watch the epic, new music video for “Celestial Mirage”.
Ante-Inferno on "Celestial Mirage": "Celestial Mirage" tells the story of a stricken man dying alone in a ditch in some distant land. A victim of war and endless slaughter, this pitiful soul stares at the sky and dreams of his homeland, praying for a swift passage into the afterlife as the mists gather and the darkness draws in, and the insects begin to flitter around his bloodied limbs, lured implacably by the aroma of death. As this fragile human life passes into the emptiness of the beyond, he witnesses the celestial mirage into which he had invested so much hope and prayer, break apart in the sky and disappear; lost to him now and forever.
Tracklist:
1. A Lullaby to a Dying World
2. Transcendence
3. Celestial Mirage
4. Shadowed Waters
5. Two Score and Ten Souls
6. Beyond the Immemorial Veil
7. Nightmares of the Eschaton
“Antediluvian Dreamscapes” will be coming out May 13th on Vendetta Records and is now available for pre-order HERE

Sigur Rós are one of the most successful bands of recent times and one of Iceland’s most successful acts of all time, with six number ones in their home country and a trio of Platinum albums globally. In the years since Kveikur, the band launched the ‘Liminal’ soundbaths and endless playlists, built around blissed-out re-imaginings of moments from Sigur Rós’s catalogue both familiar and obscure. In 2020 they released the almost mythical ‘lost’ recordings Odin’s Raven Magic, an orchestral album originally made nearly two decades prior. The band have also reissued their albums Agætis byrjun, Takk, ( ), Með suð i eyrum við spilum endalaust and Valtari on their own label, Krunk. Alongside this, frontman J ónsi has released two solo albums, Shiver, featuring contributions from A. G. Cook, Robyn and Liz Fraser, and the surprise album
Obsidian which coincided with his solo art exhibition at the Tanya Bonakdar Gallery in New York City.

Opening Up – Pillow Queens
Dublin’s Pillow Queens are getting set to release their sophomore album Leave The Light On, their first release on Royal Mountain Records (Wild Pink, Alvvays, US Girls), which is due out on April 1st, and today the band are sharing the album’s final pre-release single, a track called “No Good Woman.”
Preceded by the singles “Hearts & Minds” and “Be By Your Side“, which have seen praise from outlets like The Guardian, NPR, Stereogum, Consequence, BrooklynVegan, Uproxx, DIY
and Clash who described “Hearts & Minds” as “Pillow Queens at their most out-going,” the single arrives at an exciting moment for the band who are about to make their debut on American shores. Their first shows will take place at SXSW (full details can be found below), before they trace their way across the continent, with their New York debut at Mercury Lounge recently selling out over a month in advance.
This song is one which is very narrative based, though not in a linear way. It’s written more from the perspective of someone looking upon the scenarios of those around them,” explains singer Pam Connolly. “It tries to convey a perpetual hopelessness of debt and striving for an ideal that can never be achieved. It’s pretty much a song about Sisyphus.”
In support of the album the band will play a sold-out run of shows in Ireland, followed by their first ever US tour dates (including SXSW), as well as their biggest ever UK tour dates in May.

When Pillow Queens set about recording their second album, before, after and during, great spaces were opening. The pauses in living and connection were profound. And so, they went two places: within, and towards each other.
Leave The Light On is an exploration of the uncertainty of emotions as they are in process, and an intuitive outpouring of ideas as they form. It’s about being intimately honest with yourself, and as a band. It’s about trusting that this state of vulnerability can be held as it emerges, by you, by us.
What do queer dream blues sound like? More importantly, what do they feel like? Leaving home at night, driving through the black back roads until the tungsten light starts to glow. “Uaigneas an chaldaigh”, the Irish sense of loneliness experienced on the shore. The confusion and discombobulation of waking and feeling unfamiliar. The liminal space between dreaming and being conscious. The unmooring that happens when a sense of self is being explored and sometimes slipping away.
But gravitating towards the unknown and the ambiguous can often yield the kinds of sounds and feelings that provide creative certainty, where the art is coming to you, as much as you going to it. Leave The Light On fills vast new sonic plains for Pillow Queens. It’s an album that encourages duality; to be soft and hard, delicate, and muscular, intimate and anthemic, alone and together. Collaborating on lyrics, a shared emotional experience fills these songs of hope and home, insecurity and estrangement, songs that track time passing and a sense of reflection grows deeper every day.

When real movement is stillness, when to be stationary feels transitionary, and when the most vital journey in life is to go within, then it’s time to leave the light on, and open up.
