Stereolab – Ultra Good News

Stereolab announce a new run of UK and European dates across October, November and December 2022.

Beginning in Paris at La Gaité Lyrique on Oct 26th, the run of shows culminate in London on Dec 3rd with a takeover of both stages at EartH. The night will see Stereolab alongside four other acts – to be announced in the near future – playing across the concert hall and theatre, followed by the UltraDisco, with Tim, Laetitia and Martin playing disks in the main room until 3am. All attendees of the UltraDisco will also receive a Duophonic Super 45s gift.

There are two bands of tickets available for the Dec 3rd EartH show, which offer the following:

£30 tickets – 5:30pm – 11pm entry:
– Entry to the multi-artist, full venue multi-space takeover event. Full bill announced nearer the time.
– Entry to Stereolab headline set is guaranteed. Entry for some acts on the bill are limited & on a first come, first served basis.

£35 UltraDisco tickets – 5:30pm – 3am entry:
– Entry to an exclusive afterparty until 3am featuring DJ sets from Laetitia, Tim and Martin.
– A limited edition Duophonic Super 45s gift.
– Entry to the multi-artist, full venue multi-space takeover event. Full bill announced nearer the time.
– Entry to Stereolab headline set is guaranteed. Entry for some acts on the bill are limited & on a first come, first served basis.

Tickets for all dates go on-sale at Friday, July 8th, at 10am BST.

Word of the tour follows on from the recent news that the fifth in the Switched On series of compilation albums, Pulse of the Early Brain [Switched On Volume 5], is set for a Sept 2nd release via Warp Records and Duophonic UHF Disks.

The news came alongside ‘Robot Riot‘, which was originally written for a sculpture made by Charles Long – an artist that Stereolab had previously collaborated with on 1995’s Music For The Amorphous Body Study Center project.

Poland’s CF98 Release New Single + Video “Double Sunrise” From The Upcoming Album ‘This Is Fine’ – Out September 2nd on SBÄM Records / Sound Speed Records.

Poland’s CF98 is a band that brings melodic punk rock energy, PMA, and friendship wherever it goes. Formed over 15 years ago, the band remains faithful to its skatepunk roots.

The 4-piece fronted by the powerhouse vocals of singer Karolina Duszkiewicz creates fast, melodious, mostly positive songs with great energy and message about “loving life” that will make you reconsider some serious social topics or will put a smile on your face.

CF98’s upbeat new single “Double Sunrise” (off the band’s upcoming album ‘This Is Fine,’ out September 2 via SBÄM Records / Sound Speed Records) celebrates the DIY touring life and vividly recalls unforgettable moments while out on the road.

Duszkiewicz says, "We chose that song as our first single because it brings back memories, brings back touring, festivals, meetings with friends, great adventures. We always associated those things with summer, mostly good, positive and memorable things happen in that season."

CF98 was founded in 2003 in Kraków, Poland and released five full length albums and 2 EPs. The band’s previous album was the 2020 EP “Dead Inside” which was released worldwide through Sound Speed Records (USA). and produced with the legendary Ishay Berger – guitarist of Useless ID.

They spent the whole of 2021 writing new songs, produced them again together with Ishay and recorded in one of the greatest polish rock studios: Heinrich House Studio. The album “This Is Fine” will be out in September 2022 thanks to Sbam Records along with Sound Speed.

CF98 has performed at various festivals throughout Europe, includlng Mighty Sounds Festival in Czech Republic, Punk Rock Holiday, Sbam, while also playing countless club gigs with the likes of Satanic Surfers, Krang, Useless ID, Teenage Bottlerocket and Ignite.

THE MONO LPS – Opening A Window To The Soul

The Mono LPs release the emotive new single and video for: “You Say”.

Blending moving arrangements with a raw power of feeling that only comes in the wake of loss, the latest single from the Liverpool band is tender, troubled and will touch you to the very core.

With a heartbreaking backstory laid bare by Ste Reid’s vivid and visceral lyricism, the lead vocalist and songwriter explains:

“I wrote ‘You Say’ after the death of my mother. She was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and the whole family moved back into the family home to look after her. This song tells the story of what happened…”

Originally beginning life as a plaintive ballad written on acoustic guitar, it was upon hearing Portishead’s distorted cover of ABBA’s “SOS” that Ste decided to up-end his own creation and embrace its darkness. Working with producer Danny Woodward (Whitewood Recording Studios, Liverpool), the pair de-tuned the sweet sounds of a violin (played by Ste) to create the foreboding drone that quivers like a pulse throughout the track.

Adding solemn cello accompaniment and percussion that ticks like time running out, the results make for a single that simmers with a brooding trip-hop intensity and an aching melancholy that opens a window to the soul.

“You Say” is the gravitational closer to the band’s acclaimed second album, ‘Shuffle/Play’ – out now on Fretsore Records. Legendary guitarist Steve Hackett is pleased to announce, ‘Genesis Revisited Live: Seconds Out & More’, the visual document of his 2021 UK tour celebrating the classic Genesis live album.

Set for release on the 2nd September 2022 (with vinyl following on the 25th November), it sees Steve and his band perform ‘Seconds Out’ in full & in sequence, as well as a selection of solo material including tracks from his most recent studio album ‘Surrender of Silence’.

Steve comments: “I’m so happy to release my Seconds Out & More show… A spectacular night with a band on fire tearing into that magic music combining the true spirit of Genesis with a fresh virtuosic approach and an extraordinary sound under amazing lights. This show is a feast for both ears and eyes. The best of so many worlds!”
