THE PEARL HARTS – Let’s Go Dancing Peanut
THE PEARL HARTS – have unveiled their new track âBaby Chaosâ, arriving alongside their long-awaited second album âLove, Chaosâ (out now, via Double Bang Records).
The opener of the bandâs new album âLove, Chaosâ, âBaby Chaosâ is a powerful statement of intent from The Pearl Harts, igniting the starting fuse that winds its way into their explosive latest collection.
Produced by the band themselves, âBaby Chaosâ sees retro-rock flourishes and a riotous no-holds-barred attitude prickling amongst raw rockânâroll guitars and melodic punk sensibilities. The end result makes for a record that sounds like the warped lovechild of Bikini Kill, The Stooges and Tony Visconti, funnelled via the N.E.R.D school of production. Of the new track The Pearl Harts explain:
âEver had that kind of love that feels so right but so wrong⊠it jitters in the gut but aches in the heart? A twin flame kind of mentality â this is what âBaby Chaosâ is about. The kind of love that brings madness, codependency: feeling alive and out of control yet so comfortable at the same time. Relationships arenât black and white⊠love can cause us to confront our shadow itself.âÂ
The final instalment in a series of singles that have led up to the albumâs release, âBaby Chaosâ follows the riotous âHypocriticalâ, Classic Rock-endorsed âMoreâ and âWild Meâ, a track supported by Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music) and Radio X. Released on the same day as the bandâs eagerly awaited second album âLove, Chaosâ, both are available today (21 April 2023) via Double Bang Records.
THE PEARL HARTS –Â NEW SINGLE: âBABY CHAOSâ
NEW ALBUM âLOVE, CHAOSâ – OUT NOW, VIA DOUBLE BANG
Produced by the band themselves in collaboration with Danio (Husky Loops, Kari Faux), âLove, Chaosâ features twelve tracks of the high-octane rockânâroll The Pearl Harts have become known for, while adding some â90s NYC punk, 2000s hip-hop and modern polished pop touches into the mix.Â
While taking listeners on a personal journey of reinvention, âLove, Chaosâ also sees the band on a mission to rewrite the narrative for women in the music industry and beyond. Speaking about the album upon its release today, the duo say:
ââLove, Chaosâ is about saying goodbye to unhealthy patterns that we all identify with in our lives. Be that work, alcohol, sex, drugs, procrastination, love⊠Whether we like it or not our whole lives are a series of patterns that shape our personality, they can come about through the unconscious, through family dynamics, through everyday interactions and through trauma. âLove, Chaosâ is about realising and accepting this and forging a life beyond.âÂ
Born out of love and a desire to make hi-octane rock, The Pearl Harts burst onto the scene almost a decade ago. Making a name for themselves with their wild attitude, DIY spirit and incredible live shows, the pair have been praised by the likes of NME (who praised the duo as having âan ear for dynamic riffs and gigantic tunesâ) and Clash who lauded âThe Pearl Harts have a visceral quality which is difficult to denyâ. Garbageâs Shirley Manson is also a certified fan, describing them as âbadass girls with all the right stuffâ.Â
music heard in hit shows such as the BBCâs Peaky Blinders, the band have also gained radio support from BBC 6 Music, Radio X, and beyond. The Pearl Harts also recently performed a cover of Edwyn Collinsâ âA Girl Like Youâ for BBC Introducing on International Womenâs Day.Â
Having toured extensively across the UK and Europe with the likes of The Kills, Counterfeit, Frank Carter, Garbage and False Heads, The Pearl Harts recently completed their first run of live shows since 2019 for Independent Venue Week. Ready to do it all over again this Spring to celebrate the new album, the band will be taking their âLove, Chaosâ headline tour out on the road in the UK and Ireland throughout May.
