Coastal Electronauts – A Growing Reputation
Coastal Electronauts initially began as a lockdown radio show in 2020 and has subsequently developed into a popular regular monthly live event currently held at the Waterfront Club in the seaside town of Whitstable in East Kent.
The aim of the its founders from the outset was to offer a safe space for sharing experimental sounds and performances to a new audience of enthusiasts in the town and beyond.
Up to a dozen short sets are played each month by a collective of musicians that include local artists such as Shape Navigator, AnalogueMechanic, Sophie Sirota, OSVoS and Sebtic Smile, accompanied by live visuals from @diz_qo.
With every event live-streamed, the reputation of Coastal Electronauts has grown in the UK and internationally and been a springboard to larger events including the annual International Drone Day in nearby Canterbury, as well as Synth & Electronic Music Soundbaths elsewhere.
‘Coastal Electronauts Vol 1’ is a 2xCD release that celebrates the first year since relocating from the local Labour Club to a new and bigger venue. It features a selection of some of the many dazzling performances that have taken place during 2024 and is released today (12th December) to coincide with their Xmas gathering.

Izza – Some Festive Self Love
Izza is a pop singer, songwriter, and producer, paying homage to 2000s dance pop with her electrifying melodies and self-love-inspiring lyrics.
The Los Angeles native recently toured Europe and the UK, opening for artist Leah Kate in May of 2024. Through her magnetic stage presence and approachable personality, the tour grew her community of dedicated fans.
The artist also garners consistent attention via social media, with a recent tongue-and-cheek Coachella campaign amassing over 100 million views on Instagram, and past posts on other platforms drawing significant attention to her music and creativity.
Izza prides herself on creating music that encourages everyone and anyone to focus on self-love and normalize vulnerability. Izza is also an advocate for mental health and has performed at 320 Festival, alongside artists like Chris Martin of Coldplay, Elohim, and Social House.
By coupling high-energy beats with positive messages, Izza prides herself on creating music that can be used as medicine for those who need it most. According to Genius, “Not many can do so with the same effortlessly confident feel and focus on playful fun as Izza.” From headlining Audacy’s “We Can Survive” 2023 concert at Prudential Center -where she was interviewed by radio sensation Josh “Bru” Brubaker about her-to selling out LA venues, there’s nothing Izza can’t do.
Izza’s latest EP, titled “Because I’m Blonde,” is written and produced by the artist herself, mixed by Serge Courtois from Milk & Honey and mastered by Grammy Nominated Mike Tucci. The new EP explores Izza’s identity as a blonde woman navigating relationships, self-confidence, and meaning in a world full of stereotypes.
Her new Christmas single “Love Bracelets” (Cartier Christmas Remix)” is an instant holiday classic. She confides, “It is about wanting material things for Christmas over relationships because nice things don’t disappoint you like people do. This is a remixed version of my song “Love Bracelets”with a holiday twist. It’s about celebrating self-love and focusing your energy on yourself because happiness comes from loving yourself, not other people.”

Brick Lane Jazz Festival has been making waves on the UK music scene, growing from its modest debut across four venues in 2022 to a 12-stage extravaganza spanning Brick Lane and Shoreditch in just three years. With over 100 artists set to perform across this three-day celebration, the festival has quickly become a fixture on the music calendar. Crowned #1 Best London Festival by The Standard and #1 Best UK Festival by TimeOut in 2023, the festival has only amplified its impact in 2024 with the launch of BLJF Presents—a year-round event series showcasing the UK’s most exciting artists, record labels, and parties. After sell-out shows in Manchester, Glasgow, and London this October, BLJF Presents is heading to new heights with a major event at the iconic Barbican Centre planned for early spring 2025, plus more regional stops in Bristol, Brighton, and even Paris later in the year.
The Festival also recently announced their biggest one-off show to date in conjunction with local friends and venue The Barbican. Set to take place 15th Feb 2025, the unique DREAM MANIFEST show will be led by US-based trumpeter extraordinaire Theo Croker, and co-curated by acclaimed fashion designer Nicholas Daley. The show will bring together an exploration of soundscapes, style and the global jazz community for a very special night, Theo Croker’s DREAM MANIFEST will see Croker joined on stage at the Barbican by a suite of special guests from the London and international jazz and wider music scenes in February 2025. Tickets are available HERE.
The festival will once again partner with Jazz re:freshed and Tomorrow’s Warriors, both vital community organizations that nurture emerging talent in UK jazz. Tomorrow’s Warriors will be back as the festival’s charity partner, bringing an Emerging Talent Stage for fans to catch the next wave of jazz stars as they debut the freshest live material.
The festival’s stages are hosted by some of the most important venues in East London including Village Underground, Ninety One Living Room (hosted by Jazz re:freshed), Rough Trade East, 93 Feet East, Rich Mix, Juju’s Bar & Stage, and many more. As always, those without tickets can enjoy free-entry spaces throughout the site, including the Tomorrow’s Warriors live stage at The Brick Lane Tap Room, the Signature Brew stage at The Big Chill, and DJ stages at 93 Feet East and Cafe 1001.
Alongside today’s line-up announcement, the festival have also announced details of two new stages and partnerships. The first of which includes a headline partnership with Swedish keyboard specialists Nord, who will be taking over a new space opposite the Rough Trade stage on Dray Walk with a showroom of audiophile equipment for festival attendees’ pursuing pleasure as well as an exclusive solo performance each day from three very exciting acts from the London jazz scene. The second comes in the form of a new, unplugged stage in partnership with local brewery and music-aficionados Signature Brew in the former Big Chill space. Alongside a night time DJ lineup, the day programme will showcase intimate acoustic sets from local emerging talent.
Reflecting on this fourth edition, the festival’s Founder, Juliet Kennedy says, “Every year I think, ‘Can we really top last year’s lineup?’ And yet, the talent in UK jazz just keeps raising the bar! This year’s lineup is a dream, and I can’t wait to bring everyone down to Brick Lane again with our fantastic partners, Tomorrow’s Warriors and Jazz re:freshed. Let’s go 2025!”
Early bird tickets for the festival are now on sale with Day Passes starting from just £29.95, and weekend passes from £89.95. Tickets and more info are available HERE
Mandroïd Of Krypton – Raw And Adventurous
Cosmic Sarcophagus marks the highly anticipated return of Geneva-based Mandroïd Of Krypton, a band that has evolved into a proggy, blackened thrash/punk powerhouse.
This third full-length release, arriving nine years after their previous album Hyperkaossmarket, promises a more direct, aggressive, and heavier sound.
Recorded by the band and mixed by singer-guitarist Gabriel F. (who also works as a live sound engineer), the album features drummer and crime series director Romain G.along with new member Sylvain C. on second guitar. Sylvain, a master bricklayer, also happens to be the brother of former bassist and graphic designer Bruno C., who once again did the artwork, with a “Superman villains trapped in glass”-style photo shot by Rebecca B. on the back cover. Additionally, Tim R.C., a freelance cameraman, makes his debut on bass, with the album mastered by Nostromo’s bassist Lad A. at Caduceus Studios.
Cosmic Sarcophagus stays true to the band’s signature blend of science fiction themes and radical ecological viewpoints, presenting dystopian imagery of a last stand on a ravaged planet with the hope of renewal after chaos. Vocally, the album adds grit while maintaining their clean, chanted style, drawing influences from old-school black and death metal.
Musically, Mandroïd Of Krypton’s sound is a raw and adventurous mix of thrash punk, progressive blackened elements, and a retro-futuristic vibe. The album can be described as early Voïvod meets Dead Kennedys meets Mayhem—perfect for curious and adventurous listeners.
Cosmic Sarcophagus will be released on November 29, 2024, via Swiss label MTAF Records, available digitally on all platforms. A limited edition of 250 silver vinyl copies will be distributed in Switzerland by Irascible and globally by Season of Mist.
Clan Of Xymox – The New Status Quo
Clan Of Xymox released a new EP entitled ‘Blood of Christ’ on 6th December.
The title song is also included on ‘Exodus’, the current album by the dark wave wizards released in June 2024, with the EP also including the brand new ‘You’re The One’ plus six remixes of each track for a total running time of 64 minutes.
Having toured extensively in mainland Europe and North America throughout 2024 to promote ‘Exodus’, the group are back on the road from January, playing dates in ten mainland European territories in the first third of 2025 that culminate with an appearance at the Dark Malta Festival in late April.
A set of shows in Mexico in early May will be followed immediately by further US touring that includes the Cruel World festival on 17th May at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in Los Angeles. The band will play UK shows in London, Manchester and at the bi-annual Tomorrow’s Ghosts Festival in Whitby in late October.
‘Exodus’ is the 18th studio album by the dark wave and goth scene leaders. Appearing three years after the eerily echoing ‘Limbo’, an account of the pandemic and its consequences, wave wizard Ronny Moorings offers a black bouquet of mournful dirges for our sick new world that also act as a set of elegies for the new status quo.
Four decades since originally forming in the Netherlands, Moorings and his cohorts remain beacons of tragic elegance and morbid tristesse, spearheads of a scene that has attracted successive generations of new fans. ‘Exodus’ offers ten new anthems of exquisite darkness and is yet another masterpiece packed with longing melodies, brooding vocals, heavily reverbed guitars and hypnotic drums.
A darkly spellbinding exodus towards catharsis, ‘Exodus’ contains some of the deepest, darkest songs that Moorings has crafted in many years. They not only nod to his ’80s contemporaries, but also point towards the future.
yasiin bey (FKA Mos Def) – Have A Hip Hop Christmas
Legendary American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor yasiin bey returns with the news of a forthcoming live stream performance titled Money Christmas.
Due to take place on 15th Dec at 7:00PM GMT / 8:00PM CET / 2:00PM EST, the live stream will see him debut his first new solo material in five years, following the premiere of his Negus sound installation in 2019.
Named one of greatest rappers and lyricists of all time by the likes of Forbes, Billboard, The Source, NME and more, some of yasiin bey’s top hits include “Oh No”, “Ms. Fat Booty”, “Umi Says”, and “Mathematics”. Over the course of his career bey has collaborated with many of the most prominent talents in popular, jazz and hip-hop music, including Madlib, Ye, De La Soul, Gorillaz, Robert Glasper, Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave, Derrick Hodge, Freddie Gibbs and Erykah Badu to name but a few.
Money Christmas, the next chapter in yasiin bey’s prolific career, will be broadcast live on his Bandcamp for $7.99. Thereafter, in contrast to releasing the new material through traditional channels, access to the video and downloadable music tracks will be exclusively via the purchase of a QR code issued in conjunction with limited-edition merchandise including hoodies, t-shirts, stickers and laminates to be sold on bey’s Bandcamp in due course. The material will also be released on vinyl in the coming months after the livestream.
This innovative approach to releasing new material is the first of a number of upcoming releases intended to inextricably link the acquisition of music to the artwork and supporting video footage, creating a stronger and more creative bond with fans.
The accompanying artwork for the performance – titled “Osanta Bin Lyin” – sees him once again collaborating with Spanish-Moroccan friend and artist Anuar Khalifi (@anuarkhalifi), whom bey has previously performed live with as well as starring in a short film titled “Part Of Me” in 2023, in which he reflects on the artist’s work and life. Both Khalifi and bey are represented by The Third Line Gallery in Dubai.
bey’s career in hip hop started under the now-forsaken stage name ‘Mos Def’ in 1994, and in 1998 he formed the duo Black Star alongside rapper Talib Kweli, releasing their eponymous debut album, featuring the singles “Definition” and “Respiration”. In 1999 he released his solo debut, Black on Both Sides, which was widely praised, and followed by The New Danger (2004), True Magic (2006), and The Ecstatic (2009), all to critical and audience acclaim. In 2022 with Talib Kweli they released a new long-awaited Black Star album, ‘No Fear of Time’, produced by Madlib, on the podcasting platform Luminary. The album was released physically for the first time last month via Rhymesayers Entertainment.
Prior to his career in music, yasiin bey was a child actor with roles in television films, sitcoms, and theatre. Since the early 2000s, he has appeared in the films Something the Lord Made, Next Day Air, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, 16 Blocks, Be Kind Rewind, The Italian Job, The Woodsman, Bamboozled, and Brown Sugar, and in television series such as Dexter and House. He is also known as the host of Def Poetry Jam, which aired on HBO between 2002 and 2007.
In 2015, yasiin bey created Negus, is a 28-minute listening experience consisting of 8 compositions recorded in London, produced by Lord Tusk, Steven Julien and Acyde. Negus is presented as an immersive sound installation, that can only be experienced in person. The recording is unavailable for purchase via digital or physical platforms. Bey designed the multitrack recording as an installation to encourage people to be fully present while listening to it.
Since then, yasiin bey has worked with long-time collaborators Dave Chappelle and Talib Kweli to create ‘The Midnight Miracle’, a podcast released on Luminary bringing the three personalities together in a new genre of audio encompassing music, conversation, debate and celebrity guests. The show won Apple Podcasts’ ‘Best Shows of 2021’ and was cited as one of the New York Times’ ‘Best 10 Podcasts of 2021’. Seasons 1 and 2 of the show were recorded during Chappelle’s legendary 2020 Summer Camp in Ohio, and later in New York, London and other locations around the globe, including a live performance at the 2022 Blue Note Jazz Festival in Napa, CA. Later in 2022 he performed with Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock on their record-breaking live US arena tour.
The forthcoming live stream performance also comes on the heels of bey’s recent BEYONDOOM tour, which saw him play across the EU, UK, NZ, and AUS paying tribute to the works of the late great MF DOOM, as well as a small run of shows celebrating the 15th anniversary of his 2009 album “The Ecstatic”. More recently bey also appeared at Artists for Aid and South Facing Festival in London, Way Out West Festival in Sweden, and Liberation Music in Barcelona earlier this year. Money Christmas nods towards 2025 and what is sure to be another unstoppable year for yasiin bey.
Monobloc – In Their Own Lane
New York City’s Monobloc return today with the expansive “Take Me”, with frontman Tim Waldron having the following to say about their new single and last release of a breakthrough 2024:
“Musically, “Take Me” was written around the time we were exploring the whole Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound method—massive sounding songs that aren’t just drenched in reverb but more so well placed illusion. We wanted a song for a room we’re not yet big enough to play. A goal post. Lyrically, I wanted a confession from someone knowingly drinking the Kool-Aid: “Take me where you want me. I want to be your fool.” The song transitions from desperate shouts into the void to a laid-back, tongue-in-cheek croon.
“Take Me” is our boot-up sequence. It’s the sound of a band finding its footing and setting off on its journey. This is the song we always imagined would be listeners’ first introduction to the project, though reality chose a different path. However for a handful of listeners it will be.”
The visualiser for “Take Me” was shot in both New York City and across the world, with live footage of the group taken from a whirlwind twelve months at home and abroad, self-directed by the band.
The band’s previous three singles, “Where is My Garden”, “I’m Just Trying To Love You” and “Irish Goodbye”, all presented a band arriving fully-formed, pushing the envelope with forward-thinking guitar arrangements and widescreen melodies. These debut songs were lauded by press internationally, including a digital cover at Dork and support from NME, Rolling Stone UK, DIY, So Young and more.
Monobloc has made a splash on the global stage with many shows this year, including performances at All Points East, Rock En Seine, supporting Interpol, and sold-out headlining shows in New York City, London and Manchester. The momentum continues this winter with an appearance and Japanese debut at rockin’onsonic, appearing live alongside Weezer, Death Cab for Cutie, The Lemon Twigs, Jesus and Mary Chain and many more.

Dylan Scott – Saying It How It Is
Curb Records chart-topping recording artist Dylan Scott is not afraid to say who he is and where he comes from in his final release of the year, ‘Country Till I Die‘, out now.
Written by Taylor Phillips, Charlie Handsome, John Byron and Ben Johnson, the rowdy anthem is a blazing allegiance to the dirt and backroads that raised him and aptly shares the name as Scott’s upcoming spring headlining Country Till I Die Tour, with tickets on sale now. Scott also released the accompanying music video today, directed by Cameron Packee.
“‘Country Till I Die’ is such a fun, uptempo song that reflects how I grew up and who I am,” said Scott. “My kids are the biggest fans of this song and it’s been a perfect addition to my live show. Looking forward to seeing who else is Country Till They Die out on the road this spring.”
His biggest venues yet, the Country Till I Die Tour will hit 17 U.S. cities coast to coast, including major markets including New York City and a trip across the border to Toronto, Ontario (see a full list of tour dates below). Scott will be joined by special guests George Birge, Dasha and Graham Barham for select dates. The Louisiana native hit the ground running on the road in 2024, serving as direct support on Cole Swindell’s Win The Night Tour before embarking on his own headlining I Owe You One Tour, which included sold-out shows and shattered attendance records. This year alone, Scott has seen 12+ sold-out headlining shows in markets such as Pittsburgh, Penn., Springfield, Ill., Columbia, S.C. and more.
The award-winning artist continues to be no stranger to the Country Airplay charts as he sits in the Top 5 and nears the Top 15 with ‘Boys Back Home’ with Dylan Marlowe and ‘This Town’s Been Too Good To Us’ respectively. He began 2024 in a deluxe way, releasing Livin’ My Best Life (Still), a 26-song collection that became his highest-charted album on the Billboard Top 200 upon release. The album has already sparked five GOLD or PLATINUM singles, three No. 1 songs, as well as multiple tracks on the Billboard Hot Country chart this year. The album also features RIAA PLATINUM certified No. 1 hit ‘Can’t Have Mine (Find You A Girl)’ and “surefire hit” (MusicRow) ‘What He’ll Never Have’.
Scott treated fans with additional standalone track releases throughout the year including ‘You’d Think I Was A Cowboy‘ with the music video starring his wife Blair and ‘I Owe You One‘ which Scott performed live on NBC’s TODAY in October. Watch the performance here.

Ryan and Rory – A Universal Message
Delivering “commercial polish and good-natured, honest storytelling” (Tennessean), rising country duo Ryan and Rory – named a SiriusXM 2024 “Highway Find” – released the tender and nostalgic ‘Heaven’s Got A Country Station‘, ahead of their Grand Ole Opry debut (7/12).
Written by Ryan and Rory with Andy Albert and producer Kevin Bard, listen to ‘Heaven’s Got A Country Station’ HERE and watch the official music video HERE.
“I’ve dreamed of playing the Grand Ole Opry my entire life,” says Rory John Zak. “It’s more than a dream come true though. It’s an honor and a privilege. We are sincerely humbled to perform in ‘the circle’ for our very first time.”
“‘Heaven’s Got A Country Station’ comes from a very personal point of view,” says Ryan Follesé. “Our love of country music was passed down to us from our parents, so seeing how it resonates to so many who hear their own story in it, is so rewarding. It was inspired by personal feelings but it’s turned into a surprisingly universal message we weren’t expecting.”
“Poised to be a staple on countless playlists and radio” (PopCulture), “Ryan and Rory are the next heir apparent to the country duo throne” (Country Swag). Having opened for Sam Hunt and Jamey Johnson this year, the eloquent new track speaks to losing the loved one responsible for igniting your passion for country music.
I bet the signal’s clear as day where you are now
There ain’t a trace of static way up in them clouds
And since you left I filled up a book of songs
‘bout how I can’t believe you’re gone
Maybe one of these days one’ll come on
When you’re drivin’ ‘round those streets of gold
in that truck you swore you shoulda never sold
favorite dog in the back bench seat
and you hear a song that sounds like me
Hope you turn it up loud as it gets
And you’re proud as hell when the last note hits
Since you’ve been up there I’ve been down here prayin’
Heaven’s got a country station
‘Heaven’s Got A Country Station’ follows the duo’s self-titled debut EP that was released earlier this year to critical acclaim. Featuring the lively smash ‘Pour Decisions‘, the fan favourite was praised by Country Now as a “catchy, post-heartbreak summertime anthem,” by Country Swag as “the perfect combination of enticing production and fun, sing-along ready lyrics” and by MusicRow as “drawling, drowsy, boozy, Southern and loping. Relax and ride along.”
With more music on the way, Ryan and Rory are in the studio writing and recording for an upcoming project to release in 2025.
