Greentea Peng – A Mesmerizing Brew
Hot on the heels of the announcement of her forthcoming new album “TELL DEM IT’S SUNNY”, Greentea Peng has unveiled the captivating music video for her latest single, “One Foot”.
Greentea will also hit the road across the UK and Europe in support of the record in the Spring. Early access tickets will be available to those signed up to Greentea Peng’s mailing list on Wednesday, general sale will be available to purchase on Friday 6th of December at 10:00AM (GMT).
The “One Foot” music video, filmed in the heart of London, perfectly complements the track’s introspective sonics. Shot in monochrome, the video is both moody and mesmerizing, reflecting the soulful depth and emotion that has become Greentea Peng’s trademark. Directed by the artist herself in collaboration with ABOVEGROUND, the video perfectly encapsulates the themes of balance and uncertainty that form the bedrock of the song.
Known for her magnetic stage presence and genre-defying artistry, Greentea Peng is gearing up to bring her latest work to life on stage across the UK and Europe. Expect an immersive live experience that fuses her distinctive voice with her rich blend of soul, dub, and jazz influences. A seasoned live performer, Peng’s shows are celebrated for their energy, intimacy, and the unique connection she creates with her audience.
Whereas her debut album opus, 2021’s transportative MAN MADE, looked outward into the world – Greentea’s lens interpreting the collective and universal experiences of a charged period of time – “TELL DEM IT’S SUNNY” draws inward, from global place-finding, to the raw primality of being human. The politics of self anchors this 14 song exploration.
First single “TARDIS (hardest)” was a perfect introduction to this new era – a fearless, low-swung manifesto, showcasing Peng’s unmistakable word-craft over production which is at once tower-block streetwise and mystical. “One Foot”, produced by OCT8VES (Jon Mills and Nat Powers), is a standout example of the stop-in-your-tracks vocals which punctuate Peng’s spoken-truths throughout the album. The raw and hypnotic instrumentation is perfectly complemented by Greentea’s dynamic vocal delivery.
“One foot front and back again, the journey of perpetual longing.”
– Greentea Peng
Given the personal growth of the past 3 years, it comes as no surprise that the creative process of “TELL DEM IT’S SUNNY” is more expressive and hands-on than ever before, with Peng playing bass on multiple tracks and delving more deeply into the production side of the craft. She is joined by Longtime collaborators, Earbuds, Samo, Nat Powers and St.Francis Hotel.
With her signature honeyed vocals, Greentea Peng builds smoky soundscapes and spiritual anthems, lacing her music with genre-spanning influences across everything from dub, reggae, jazz, contemporary hip-hop and psychedelic rock. Both deeply personal and politically prescient, Greentea’s music has touched audiences across the globe. A performance of her song “Downers” on COLORS went viral in 2019, interspersed with celebrated EPs and singles. Her debut album, MAN MADE, arrived in 2021 to widespread acclaim, followed by the 2022’s equally revered mixtape GREENZONE 108. From collaborations with U.K heavyweights such as Goldie, The Streets, Neneh Cherry and Swindle, Greentea continues to align with like-minded, game-changing artists who exist in their own lane. This past summer Greentea has hosted her very own monthly Rinse FM show, graced Glastonbury with a surprise DJ set, and played alongside Yussef Dayes at his curated Summer Dayes festival. TESLA – Pulling The Plug
Legendary rock band TESLA has unveiled the acoustic music video for their latest single, “All About Love.”
The track is part of their All About Love EP, which is now available as a special edition release on limited collector’s 12″ vinyl.
What you will hold in your hands is a one of a kind collectors edition 12” VINYL EP that showcases TESLA’s new song “All About Love” in the three formats that TESLA the band is famously known for: ELECTRIC, ACOUSTIC, and LIVE performances. Multiple versions of this new song are presented here on this EP.
Music lovers will state that a great “song” will sound great played in any of these formats, so TESLA’s Brian Wheat and Frank Hannon have teamed up to produce this 12” Vinyl EP of their new single “All About Love” showcasing these different versions of the song.
Captured by Brian Wheat in his upstate NY recording studio, there is an electric version that shows how the band performs the song in full force, as well as two stripped down acoustic versions that showcase the dynamics of his mixes. Thus, Jeff Keith’s heartfelt lyrics about sharing love can be felt and to honor TESLA’s tradition of adding an acoustic instrumental to their love ballads, Frank Hannon recorded here a new classically influenced acoustic guitar solo piece titled “From The Heart” that is a nod to their 1987 hit “Love Song”.
Furthermore, to present the “live in concert” element of TESLA, a rendition of “All About Love” segues into James Gang’s classic song “Walk Away”, both were recorded live at a Las Vegas concert earlier this year. They are included here as bonus tracks!
Throughout their nearly 40 year career, TESLA the band has performed diligently showing their prowess in these diverse environments. Both their electric and acoustic formats are received with love and acceptance by their loyal fanbase and TESLA the band is still selling out concerts to this day.
So put on your headphones or crank up your sound system to enjoy this audiophile vinyl treat; the ALL ABOUT LOVE E.P. with special edition single on a Limited Collectors 12″ vinyl.

That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That’s just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid-80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like Bad Company, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.
The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Their 1986 platinum debut album, Mechanical Resonance, included Top 40 hits “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Little Suzi.” 1989’s double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy included hits “Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)” and “Love Song”. Suddenly, TESLA, who had been touring with bands such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth, earned headlining status. In 1990, TESLA helped reshape the face of modern rock music by stripping down to the Five Man Acoustical Jam, an informal collection of their biggest hits peppered with rock and roll classics by the Beatles, Stones, and others. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band’s “Signs.” Other 90s albums from TESLA include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release material including 9 new albums since 2000.
TESLA’s legacy is alive and well as they continue to record and sellout venues all over the world. As comfortable, rugged, and dependable as your favorite pair of boots, they endure. TESLA is a celebration of the greatest spirits of rock and roll.
Confucius MC & Bastien Keb – A Meditative Exploration
South London rapper Confucius MC returns to Shabaka Hutchings’ Native Rebel Recordings for a new project alongside producer and multi-instrumentalist Bastien Keb.
Merging unexplored pathways between rap, folk, and jazz into a spiritual triumvirate, Songs For Lost Travellers, set for release on February 7th 2025, is an album unlike any either artist has made previously, possibly unlike any record in existence.
Honest and direct, the duo imbue Songs For Lost Travellers with knowledge and truth from their lived experiences. There is grief hidden in the notes, an inherent sadness that is balanced with an awareness that grief is a protest against the social machinery of remaining numb. The record lingers in a meditative state, unafraid of restlessness and embracing solitude, with the expectation that peace is just as imminent as death.
Neither Con nor Keb bothered much with the professional studio in making Songs For Lost Travellers. Instead, they opted for the raw state of their home recordings and first takes, matching the intimacy of being alone and reflective in their creative energies. Room static on ‘Tell Me Lies’ makes it feel like you’ve entered their apartments. The immediacy continues on ‘Gutters’, as Keb plays guitar while watching the tele and Con hums along to the vocal melody in search of the proper pocket for his verse.
More drawn to Keb’s recent folk recordings on the Songs For Lilla EP than his funk roots circa Dinking In The Shadows of Zizou or the cinematic soul of The Killing of Eugene Peeps, Con leaned into the spacial freedom he heard in Keb’s lo-fi production cobbled from field recordings and voice notes. Both artists placed their families into the tableau; Con wrote ‘Little Man’ for his son, hoping to add a positive contribution to the canon of parental rap songs. Later, his son appears at the end of ‘Paramount’ to deliver a passage from Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet. Keb secretly recorded his mum playing saxophone and sampled his cousin playing sax as well. The result is a near-drumless album (save for ‘Toulouse’ and light tapping on ‘It Would Speak’) in which Keb’s raw production (plus a few sessions with Kofi Flexxx on flute) gave Con a liminal zone, unencumbered by beats per minute, to craft melodies that turn his philosophical rhymes into mantras.

The Unthanks – Igniting The Season
Recorded in one wintry week on the North York Moors, The Unthanks’ In Winter is an extensive, completist time-capsule of the season, featuring Christmas tunes known throughout the western world, mixed with the traditional and the newly written, all passed with great care and love through The Unthanks filter.
With most pieces drifting into the next, In Winter is a dream-like winter fantasia, embracing both the dark and the light in the most ritualistic of seasons. Moving in and out of focus, like a memory, its a bittersweet hymnal to our shared winter experience.
The Wire Magazine’s Lucy Thraves is amongst the early reviewers, describing the album as “compelling” and “evocative” and “the familiar made strange”, while Vanguard Online say that “the highlights are too many to list.. the arrangements are exquisitely beautiful. The whole is limpidly beautiful, moving and bears listening to repeatedly, such is the simplicity and space in the sound”. Silent Radio describe In Winter as “a rare beast that transcends the notion of a Christmas album. While it is not an album for parties, it captures the season with its melancholy and traditions perfectly, the voices and instrumentation acting like a warm coat protecting against the elements.”
The album’s closing track – and lead single – ‘Dear Companions‘ has been picking up airplay across 6 Music and BBC Radio 2. A parting song that instantly feels like it has always been with us, written by Becky Unthank to the old American folk tune of Nettleton, ‘Dear Companions’ crescendos towards its end with the voices of 60 devotees, recorded on one of the band’s infamous singing residentials.
The Unthanks continue their Ireland & UK headline tour of In Winter through December. Full dates below. Tickets are available from the band’s website.
