Parasocials release new track, ‘Deadzone’, due for release Feb 25 via Tomer Krail Records. The track is produced by Ed West (Zara McFarlane) at ICMP Studios.
The new wave flavoured four piece bring their penchant for idiosyncratic and poetic punk etchings back to the fore in the new track ‘Deadzone’ filled with trepidation and a rougish drawl, as with previous track ‘The Fall,’ they fill the palate with a deadpan rancour as the track moves forward feverishly into distant realms – as the harmonies kick-in and the momentum takes you into a seeminly parallel dimension.
‘Deadzone is a laconic road trip into the dark heart of contemporary madness, a post-apocalyptic love story set to the backdrop of relentless drums and a hammering bassline. Penned by Felix Slander, the Parasocials very own Byronic anti-hero, with an aim to capture a particular feeling of languor and trepidation.’
Tomer Krail – Vocals, Guitar George Calne Jones – Vocals, Guitar Felix Slander Vocals, Bass Rob James – Drummer
The Parasocials sprang-up over lockdown offering a diverse, shambolic yet cultivated discourse through an array of new wave, post-punk spikiness and discordant, angular arrangements offset by a harmonious lounge lizard charm.
The band bring together a diverse fusion of talent from the lo-fi jazz tones from artists Tomer Krail, roguish folk-punk artist George Calne Jones, charming indie softboi Felix Slander and miracle drummer Rob James, as they dip into influences from a broad-spectrum of genres including: Car Seat Headrest, Moor Mother, Richard Dawson, Theolonius Monk, Leonard Cohen to Talking Heads.
