Picture This, the Irish rock band hailing from Athy, Kildare, have announced the release of their fourth studio album, “Parked Car Conversations”.
This long-awaited work is set to drop on the 29th of September 2023 via RCA Records, Germany, and is already available for pre-order, should you be so inclined.
The announcement follows the release of two new singles from the band, “Get On My Love” and “Song To Myself”, both of which showcase Picture This’ innate ability to craft hit songs, even after an 18-month hiatus.
But that’s not all, folks. The quartet has also announced a UK/Ireland headline tour in October, hitting up major cities like London, Manchester, and Dublin. Pre-sale tickets for the eight-date tour will be available from 9 am BST on Wednesday, 29th March, with general sale tickets available from 9 am BST on Friday, 31st March. According to the band, “Parked Car Conversations” is their most ambitious work yet, featuring 15 tracks written over the last three years. Many of these tracks, much like “Song To Myself”, delve into emotional depths previously untouched by Picture This, showcasing the band – particularly lyricist and singer Ryan Hennessy – at their most vulnerable.
The album is a retrospective look at Hennessy’s personal hurdles, which, at the time, seemed insurmountable. But through the strength of overcoming these situations, Hennessy and the band have grown, and that growth is the central focus of “Parked Car Conversations”.

In Hennessy’s own words, “Parked Car Conversations is by far the most personal album we have ever created. There are so many deeply meaningful songs to us on this record, and I hope they can be just as meaningful to those who listen. It is an album about everything involved with being human – love and loss and hurt and euphoria and all of those other complex emotions that flutter in between. The ups and downs of living are conveyed through ballads and anthems alike on this record. It is a truly raw and open album, and we’re inviting you in further than we ever have before.”
Sonically, “Parked Car Conversations” stays true to Picture This’ pop-rock roots, with hints of indie and folk-pop woven throughout. Catchy guitar riffs, melodic hooks, and anthemic choruses combine with Hennessy’s stunning vocals to create a sound that is undeniably Picture This.
For those interested in owning a physical copy of the album, “Parked Car Conversations” will be available on CD and LP, as well as a limited edition book. The latter provides an intimate and unique insight into the band’s daily life, from their very first small gig to their headline show at last year’s Electric Picnic, Ireland’s biggest music event. Through studio recordings and video shoots, a complete picture of the band emerges, connecting hardcore fans and newcomers alike even deeper with the art and showing the band more personally than ever before.
So mark your calendars, folks, and get ready for the release of “Parked Car Conversations” – an album that promises to be the most personal and ambitious work from Picture This yet.
