Alright, all you somber souls and denizens of the dark, tighten your kohl-black laces and steel your mortal hearts.
NYC-based postpunk mavens, A Cloud of Ravens, have taken flight, embarking on a US tour, dusting their shadowy feathers alongside none other than the UK’s own gothic paragons, The Sisters of Mercy. This dark dance is in honor of their freshly unearthed tome, ‘Lost Hymns’, and they’re still high on their spectral sojourn across the chilly heart of Europe alongside their Swedish kin, Then Comes Silence.
These ominous opuses, 11 of them, were carefully honed under the practiced hand of Jason Corbett of ACTORS fame at the mystical forge known as Jacknife Sound studio. Nexilis Records, together with Schubert Music Europe, have acted as the sepulchral midwives to bring this brooding brainchild into our gloom-basked world.
Our beloved crows have deftly woven the ancient with the avant-garde, stitching together threads of post-punk and darkwave into a dark, rich tapestry. Their lyrical laments, laced with a poignant poetic prowess, encapsulate the tribulations and fleeting joys of our existential dystopia. Their last remixed EP saw them communing with the legendary John Fryer and the illuminati of the underworld, including Clan of Xymox, ACTORS, Chris Vrenna, and Ritual Howls.

Fresh from the catacombs, they’ve offered us a black pearl, their latest single ‘Parable’, complete with a video that promises nightmares sweeter than any dream. This follows their other haunting offerings ‘Requiem For The Sun’, ‘Nature of Artifice’, and ‘The Blackest Mantra’.
This somber duo was born in 2018 from the necromantic union of Matthew McIntosh (guitar and vocals) and Beth Narducci (bass guitar). This Brooklyn-based twosome materialized on the fringe of the dark music scene, their self-released early offerings resonating within the echoing chamber of our gothic hearts, eventually culminating in their 2021 phantasm, ‘Another Kind of Midnight’. This melancholic masterpiece navigates the core of a world wracked by pestilence and seething with moral tribalism.

Raised in a coven of music devotees and sired by a bona fide opera warbler, McIntosh weaved his way through punk, death rock, and hardcore before finally unifying his musical vision with Narducci. Our dark maiden, rooted in alternative rock and industrial music, also offered her hand in the A&R realm, bolstering her musical brethren.
The ‘Lost Hymns’ album is whispering through the ether right now, haunting the digital highways of Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, and Bandcamp. After their macabre minuet with The Sisters of Mercy, A Cloud of Ravens will continue their nocturnal flight, alighting on stages alongside Clan of Xymox and Curse Mackey come late May and June. Embrace the darkness, my friends.
