Three years after the release of her outstanding debut album ‘Neptune’s Daughter’, Scottish artist Kerri Watt returns on March 8th with the release of her stunning new single ‘Predictable’ which is acting as the catalyst for a bunch of new music being drip-fed throughout 2024 by the singer/songwriter.
It is a fantastic comeback release from the country-inspired performer who has been out of the limelight for good reason in recent years having welcomed her first child and settled down into homelife in Scotland.
This track celebrates the safety and predictability that she’s created for her private life, something she truly treasures.
Speaking about the release, Kerri Watt says: “[It’s] A driving, moody country number inspired by my long-term relationship. Having craved the wild uncertainty of life and love in my early 20s, I now love the ‘predictability’ of knowing exactly who I’m coming home to each day and just what makes each of us happy. However…at night when the lights go down and it’s just the two of us alone, I love to reconnect with that wild side. Written and recorded with talented friends in the US and produced by my brother Fraser Watt, I’m really excited to be back on the scene with this track after a couple of years away”.
As an artist, Kerri Watt never fails to deliver striking melodies and relatable lyrics and she’s captured that essence and flavor once again with this offering. It’s sure to become a huge fan favorite and it’s going to be really interesting to see the audience’s reaction when she performs it live at C2C Festival in London.
Fresh from a sold-out show at the LISTENING ROOM in Nashville, SOLO ARTIST and SONGWRITER Kerri Watt is back with brand new music. Her 2021 debut album “Neptune’s Daughter” garnered support from the likes of BOB HARRIS, THE AMA UK and KEITH URBAN. A born performer with powerhouse vocals, Kerri holds an impressive record of live gigs under her belt, from the ROYAL ALBERT HALL to THE LONDON PALLADIUM and festival stages at C2C and CAMBRIDGE FOLK FEST.
Over the past couple of years, Kerri’s life as an artist changed dramatically when she became a mother. When touring was off the table for a while, Kerri began writing for the big screen and is currently developing an original musical animation with Timeless Films. In 2023, Kerri became an official ‘Song Suffragette’ in Nashville – a collective that supports and champions female songwriters. (Fellow suffragettes include Kelsea Ballerini & Lainey Wilson.) Kerri went on to host a rare Song Suffragettes show in London at The Camden Club last summer.
Kerri’s love of country music and many trips to Nashville over the years really shine through in her latest sound which she’s been road-testing at a select few UK & US shows this past year. Expect the catchy hooks and soaring vocals you’ve come to know on her previous work, with a fresh dash of Southern Charm she’s picked up along the way. Catch Kerri live at Country 2 Country 2024 on March 8th & 9th
