LOST SOUL SONGS
A Candlelit Concert with Thomas Truax
on Sunday the 20th October 2024 at 7 pm
Thomas Truax is one of the great rock eccentrics. He travels with a unique “band” of bizarre, self-made, Tim Burton-esque instruments, including a motorised drum machine made of bike wheels called ‘Mother Superior’, an extensively modified gramophone called ‘The Hornicator’ and his venerable resonator guitar ‘Hank’.
Join us at Brompton Cemetery Chapel for an intimate candlelit concert with Thomas Truax, the music-maker, daydreamer, and inventor of self-made instruments.
THOMAS TRUAX
Thomas Truax is a talented guitar player, storyteller, and performer who crafts rich, poetically evocative songs about insects, trees, technology, love, and a lifelong fascination with the Moon. His music evades easy pigeonholing as his songs flit between art rock, post-punk, 50s rockabilly and a distinctive brand of surreal Americana.
Though he usually performs solo, other notable past supporters and collaborators have included Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley (“Standing at the Sky’s Edge”) and Terry Pratchett.
