Nashville’s indie singer/songwriter/poet/painter Amelia White releases her acclaimed new album Love I Swore.
The songs are both bracing and sweet as White deals with loneliness, relationships, hard work and the challenges of a troubadour’s road life. Listen to the title track “Love I Swore” HERE, and listen to the album via DSPs HERE.
Love I Swore was produced by the illustrious Kim Richey, who also adds backing vocals and percussion to the album. White’s rich lyrics are accentuated by Richey’s forte in vocal harmonies and extensive knowledge of song structures. The partnership has created an appealing collection of 11 songs featuring sounds of rock and roll, folk, alt-country and catchy pop.
Early reviews have praised Amelia White and Love I Swore:
“Love I Swore illustrates White’s lyrical ingenuity and her ability to create an emotional soundscape in which every listener can find their own struggles or heartaches or joys.”
– No Depression
“…the album grows incrementally despairing lyrically, yet the hook-filled and varied musical accompaniment keeps the listener engaged to White’s consistently potent and verbally direct songwriting. Only the best singer-songwriters have such a gift and White has proven again
that she’s one of the few.” – Glide
White made her way to her home of East Nashville after years of guitar-slinging in Boston and Seattle. A fixture at the legendary Family Wash, she established herself as “The Queen of the East Nashville underground” (No Depression). Her reputation as a celebrated songwriter spread throughout the U.S. and Europe. Her 2019 release Rhythm of The Rain earned White press accolades, chart success and led to bigger shows and events. Love I Swore continues to cement White’s spot as one of America’s premiere singer/songwriters.
