After blowing the world up with the criminal Anti-Dogma Megaforce, Fetid is the second album that Barbarian Swords recorded with Javi Félez at Moontower Studios (Deströyer 666, Teitanblood, Graveyard, Balmog…) in July 2022, and it also means the return to the band’s more typical black doom postulates from their earlier works.
With a simply spectacular cover artwork by Juanjo Castellano (The Black Dahlia Murder, Unleashed, Skeletal Remains, Avulsed…), the Catalans’ new album was released by Base Record Production on LP, CD and tape on April the 26th. The label will also print T-shirts to match the album’s artwork.
With the impressive help of Uretra (Onirophagus) on drums, Von Päx (vocals), J.Pnzr (guitar, bass, keyboards) and Steamroller (guitar) have created another symphony of sickness and abominable thoughts. From their usual tale of revenge with ‘Cherokee Firestorm’ to the finale ‘Even Brave Men Fear Death’ and ‘Not Even Light’, the height of nihilism and negativity, Barbarian Swords plunge you into unease and tragedy with a Fetid that, strangely enough, also conveys a sense of epic.
Fifth opus from a veteran band that doesn’t sell out, that rules by its own standards based on misanthropy, devotion to old extreme metal, and incorruptible darkness.
