Hailing from Montreal, the French-language band Choses Sauvages are set to unveil their latest track ‘En joue’, out 13th November.
Carving themselves their own niche with their brand of dance-punk, Choses Sauvages lean a little more into classic new-wave territory on their upcoming new single ‘En joue,’ while addressing the frustrations evoked by political injustice and the media.
”En joue refers to the feeling of helplessness faced by the extremely violent international news from recent years. It also deals with the dehumanization of certain populations taken hostage in armed conflicts and the fear of others,” says frontman Félix Bélisle.
Spiky guitars and ghostly vocals echo throughout the song, as the lyrics repeatedly urge to run faster and circle back on themselves, as though there is no direction to go. If post-apocalyptic post-punk with groove is your bag, look no further – Choses Sauvages are here to provide just that with charisma to spare, and will be bringing their fiery live performances to the UK within the next year. Stay tuned (or if you prefer, restez à l’écoute)!
