CREATURE CULT Shares new single ‘i did this to myself’
The project of Connar Ridd, Creature Cult shares new single ‘i did this to myself’, a song about how mental health can affect relationships.
On the track, Connar says, “I set myself to self-destruct and pushed everyone away when I needed them most. I was going through some heavy stuff in my life and I felt completely at my limit and couldn’t handle everyday social situations. I didn’t see any of my friends or family and made everything as difficult for myself as possible. I guess you only know what you had once it’s gone. This song is about coming out the other side and realising what I’d lost.”

The Essex based musician lays down a firm marker for the kind of change he wants to see in the world, and delivers a message loud and clear – in the face of bigotry and hatred, be uncompromising in your self-expression.
With songs about homophobia, sexism, football hooliganism, and mental health problems, he is unafraid to speak up and fight against out-dated social conventions and injustices whilst blending the likes of punk, rock, pop and electronic into an anarchic mix, similar to the likes of Lil Peep, and Ghostmane. Embracing alt-culture, they’re also inspired by bands like Nirvana and Green Day.
Creature Cult have released previous singles ‘ughly’ and ‘poster boy’, and have recently opened for The Libertines.
Creature Cult is from the small towns that make you feel like you should be somebody else, from the suburban areas where the normal and boring tower over you like skyscrapers. He is for the queer kids, the unapologetic misfits with red, blue or whatever colour hair, the kids with smudged makeup. He exists in a world where to be called freak and ugly is normal and where dressing up is beautiful.
This is the world of Creature Cult, are you in?
