Donny Hathaway started his career as a songwrter and producer at Curtis Mayfield’s Curtom label. His debut single ‘The Ghetto’ was a hit in 1969. Aside from his solo material Donny Hathaway also recorded with Roberta Flack, who was an old college friend of his.
