Oswald Slain are excited to announce the release of their debut EP ‘Kiss Me On The Mouth’ on April 16th 2025.
Born from the creative cocoon of their home studio, Oswald Slain is a testament to both personal growth and musical evolution.
Recorded over the miserable January of 2024, Oswald Slain’s music reflects a period of introspection and growth. Having reconciled with the chaos of youth and the trials of aging, lyricist Fitz channels these experiences into sincere, humorous, evocative song writing alongside the timeless swagger of old retro rock records.
Their debut, five-track EP ‘Kiss Me On The Mouth’ follows the release of November’s debut single ‘Happiness Is Overrated’, and February’s ‘UGLY’, championed by RTE, Fame Magazine, KUTX, Sirius XM, Rough Trade’s ‘Counter Culture’, Ones To Watch and Apple editorial’s ‘New In Rock’.
Produced in-house by the band themselves in their DIY home studio and mastered by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering (PJ Harvey, XTC, Big Special), ‘Kiss Me On The Mouth’ lyrically explores personal flaws, failures, self-acceptance and the feelings of constant imposter syndrome.

Discussing the creation of the EP, vocalist and lyricist Charlie Fitzgerald says: “We spent a couple of weeks in 2024 writing and recording loads of tunes. Every day I’d get up and write a couple of ideas and some lyrics, then we’d work together to orchestrate it, finishing the song together and tracking everything there and then. It was all pretty quick and it was a great way to make music because everything was pretty much written and recorded on the same day. We ended up with around 18 tunes. The EP was made up of all of the fun little bangers that we loved but couldn’t fit into what we wanted for a future album, which is a very exciting and different beast entirely. A lot of the EP lyric-wise comes from dealing with constant imposter syndrome and confidence loss. It’s important to go through change as a person but also nice to make it into a positive thing that can be fun and joyful. I was lucky enough to have people around me at the time who were keen to make this music and for that I’ll be forever grateful.”
Ahead of the release of the EP comes its next single ‘Sean Paul’, produced by Ryan Rogers (MumbleTide)on March 27th 2025; A track that exudes an effortlessly cool, feel-good swagger, singalong choruses and razor sharp lyrics which humorously highlight a series of personal failures for vocalist Charlie Fitzgerald.

Discussing the single Fitzgerald says, “It’s a nostalgic confrontation of personal flaws and failures, dressed up in a pretty little surf rock smock and a happy-go-lucky pair of shiny loafers. I was trying to write a classic loser song but it ended up all fun and silly and brought a great sense of humour to something that can haunt me from time to time.”
Oswald Slain are excited to announce that they’ll be embarking on their first tour of the UK, commencing April 17th 2025 at Newcastle’s Trillians Bar to celebrate the release of their debut EP.
