The Dollyrots Unveil UK Only Single “Still Holding On”.
With their first ever UK co-headline tour happening right now – Florida’s bubble gum punk specialists The Dollyrots are spreading the love on Valentine’s Day by releasing a brand new UK only single.
The track, Still Holding On, is the first new music to surface from the as yet untitled new album from The Dollyrots, set for release later this year. The track is an assessment of the current state of the world but delivered with typical Dollyrot punkish optimism (“The world’s a mess but we’re still holding on!”).
When asked why the UK were getting an early dose of new material compared to the rest of the world, frontwoman Kelly Ogden had this to say:
““Still Holding On” is the first song we’re releasing off our newest recordings, from the first full album sessions since 2019! It’s a hint of a flavour for the next LP to be released later this year. Since we’ll be touring the UK this month we thought we’d give our friends here a treat and release it exclusive to the United Kingdom.”
That tour, The Dollyrots co-headline run of shows with fellow US punk rock / pop punk outfit Don’t Panic, began 14th February in Manchester. The tour has eight shows in total, hitting various locations along the way before finishing up at London’s New Cross Inn on the 21st.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now at The Dollyrots’ and Don’t Panic official websites. VIP packages are also available for the shows, which include an exclusive pre-show acoustic performance by both bands, photo / autograph meet and greet opportunity and exclusive poster signed by both bands. VIP packages are upgrade only and must be purchased alongside the standard show tickets. Full information on VIP packages is available on this link. Support for the tour comes from Southampton, UK pop punk outfit Royals.
The Dollyrots return to the UK comes after a hugely successful run of shows in 2022 alongside Bowling For Soup and Lit. Don’t Panic meanwhile are hugely excited about hitting UK shores for the first time as a full band.
The Dollyrots frontwoman Kelly Ogden also had this to add about the tour:
“After touring the UK with Bowling for Soup and Lit this last time around the fan response made it clear we absolutely had to get back for a headline tour. We promised we’d be back soon so now’s the time! And we decided to keep it in the BFS family so we’re headed over with our pals Don’t Panic. Can’t wait to play some longer sets and get loud with all our UK fans and friends!”
